Chiefs Predicted To Sign All-Pro WR Ahead of Patrick Mahomes’ Return From Injury

Ahead of the free agency, the Kansas City Chiefs are linked to an All-Pro wide receiver as Patrick Mahomes gears back for his comeback.

The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their most painful season in nearly a decade during the 2025–26 campaign. As they now shift focus toward the 2026–27 NFL season, a Super Bowl-winning All-Pro wide receiver could realistically land in Kansas City to strengthen the offense. So, which All-Pro pass catcher is predicted to join the Chiefs next season? Let’s take a closer look.

Possible Tyreek Hill and Kansas City Reunion on the Horizon

According to PFSN’s Ben Belford-Peltzman, the Chiefs are listed as a potential landing spot for the former Dolphins star. The Chiefs need a wide receiver like Hill in the 2026 NFL season because their offense has lacked a true game-breaking deep threat since his departure.

Notably, defenses have increasingly focused coverage on Travis Kelce, limiting explosive plays and forcing Patrick Mahomes into tighter windows. Adding Hill would immediately stretch opposing secondaries, open space underneath, and restore vertical balance. And stats also back this.

He finished the season with 21 receptions for 265 receiving yards and one touchdown, while averaging 12.6 yards per catch before his campaign was cut short due to a serious knee injury.

Across his career so far, Hill has recorded 819 receptions for 11,363 receiving yards and 83 touchdowns, while also adding 819 rushing yards and 7 rushing touchdowns in the regular season.

His best season came in 2023, when he exploded for 119 receptions and a career-high 1,799 receiving yards, leading the entire NFL in receiving yards and earning first-team All-Pro honors. That season alone cemented his reputation as one of the most dangerous deep-threat weapons in league history.

Hill carried a massive $51.9 million salary cap hit in 2026, which was the final year of the deal. Since he is now a free agent, the Chiefs have an easier path to sign the star receiver.

Basically, bringing Hill back will not cost much. Ultimately, it’s up to the Chiefs’ general manager, Brett Veach, and head coach Andy Reid to decide whether or not they want the star receiver back in Kansas City.

Importantly, with Mahomes returning from injury, an elite separator who already understands the system could reduce pressure on the quarterback and reintroduce the speed element that once made Kansas City’s offense nearly unstoppable.

Moreover, Hill has a great relationship with Chiefs’ new offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, who also returned to the franchise this offseason. In what could be Kelce’s last NFL season, Kansas City has a chance to pair Mahomes with two of his favorite teammates and make another run at the Super Bowl.
