NFL free agency is underway this week as the league’s negotiating period began on Monday, and the official 2026 league year began today. Among many teams reaching reported deals with free agents on Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs have been busy.

Chris Jones Urges Chiefs to Sign Saints Legend Cam Jordan for Super Bowl Push

Jones took to X on Wednesday to put another name out there for the Chiefs to target this offseason. “Cam jordan…,” Jones wrote on X.

The New Orleans Saints’ defensive end is a 15-year NFL pro and has spent his entire career in New Orleans.

Now, Jones wants the Chiefs to bring him to the Chiefs as they load up for another Super Bowl run after missing the playoffs in 2025. Jordan is an eight-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro defensive end, who made the Hall of Fame All-2010s Team.

The Saints star has missed just one game throughout his 15 years in the league and has played in 243 games. He’s also coming off a resurging year in 2025. Jordan made six straight Pro Bowls from 2017-22 with his All-Pro selection in 2017.

The veteran averaged 11.5 sacks, more than 20 quarterback hits, and had at least 10 tackles for loss during that span. However, in 2023 and 2024, Jordan combined for just six sacks, 10 TFLs, and 14 quarterback hits.

The eight-time Pro Bowler came back with vengeance in 2025, collecting 15 TFLs, 15 quarterback hits, 10.5 sacks, and two passes defended. He added a couple of forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Jordan’s third extension with the Saints expired in 2025, and he signed a one-year deal worth just over $6 million last season. Now, he’s an unrestricted free agent again.

While Jordan has been a life for New Orleans, he’s only getting older, and the Saints are in a rebuilding phase. It could open up the opportunity for a team like the Chiefs, who are in win-now mode.

Jones will enter his 11th year in the NFL in 2026 and has been a Pro Bowler for the last 7 seasons. He’s spent his entire career with the Chiefs and got a big payday in 2024. The Chiefs signed Jones to a five-year, $158.75 million extension that has him under contract through 2028.

With the Chiefs’ big man anchoring the Chiefs’ front four, Jones is looking for a proven partner in crime for 2026. The Chiefs have already made five moves this offseason, most notably bringing tight end Travis Kelce back for another season.

They also resigned receiver Tyquan Thornton, signed safety Alohi Gilman, and brought in Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker.

While Jones wants the Chiefs to go after Jordan, they have already signed one defensive lineman this offseason in Khyiris Tonga. However, Tonga isn’t the star Jordan would be next to Jones in the Chiefs.
