Patrick Mahomes has widely been considered the best quarterback in the NFL due to his performance over his seven years as a starter. The Kansas City Chiefs star has thrown for 32,352 yards, 245 touchdowns, and 74 interceptions while completing 66.6% of his pass attempts. He has also added 2,243 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on 432 carries.
He has led the team to five Super Bowl appearances, winning three titles and three Super Bowl MVPs. Furthermore, he has advanced to the AFC Championship Game in each of his seven seasons as a starter. Mahomes has been named NFL MVP twice while earning three All-Pro nods and six Pro Bowl selections. He recently revealed where he learned his winning ways, which have helped him thrive in the NFL.

Chiefs Star QB Patrick Mahomes Shares Where He Learned His Winning Ways
Mahomes has needed just seven seasons as a starter to move into a tie for the fourth-most Super Bowl victories of any quarterback in NFL history. Only Tom Brady, Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw have won more rings than the Chiefs star. He recently sat down with T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert for the latest episode of Sidekicks Conversations, where he discussed his winning mentality, stating:
“It starts with Coach [Andy] Reid. It starts with the organization that we’re in, and he has a standard that every single day, you’re coming there to get better or get worse. And I think that we hold each other to that standard. And having guys like Travis Kelce that came before me, Alex Smith, these guys, they taught me how to work. They taught me how to be great every single day.
“Everybody’s a great athlete, but are you going to find a way with the little things in order to take your game to that next level? And then there’s a belief. Whenever you start winning, whenever you start having success, you believe in each other, and I think that’s something that’s extremely important, is that we have a belief in each other that we’re going to find a way to win, no matter how the game is going — the outcome will always be in our favor.”
Mahomes has proven to be a winner and enters the 2025 season with the fourth-best odds to win his fourth Super Bowl title. It would move him and Reid into a tie with Bradshaw and Chuck Noll for the second-most titles by a quarterback and head coach combo. Only Brady and Bill Belichick have won more, with six.
