‘We’re Gonna Put on a Show’ — Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Sends Strong Message to Rest of NFL Ahead of 2025 Season

The Kansas City Chiefs’ wide receiver group is expected to be back to full strength when the 2025 season starts, and star WR Rashee Rice is hoping to put on a show after missing much of the last season due to an injury. He wasn’t the only injured receiver, as Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was not sighted until Week 16.

But both are back to full health, and add Xavier Worthy, Juju Smith-Schuster, Jalen Royals, and Skyy Moore to this group, and the Chiefs’ wide receiver room appears to be one of the best in the league on paper. Rice, who will be Patrick Mahomes’ No. 1 target, has big expectations from this group and has sent a stern warning to the defenses.

Rashee Rice Warns NFL About Chiefs’ Explosive Wide Receiver Room

The Chiefs’ offense was hit hard by injuries last year. In addition to Rice and Brown, Kansas City also lost star running back Isiah Pacheco early in the season, leading to a dismal 12th-place finish in PFSN’s Offense+ metric.

While the Chiefs still managed to reach the Super Bowl, the absence of Rice and Brown was felt in the blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. But now that both are back, with Royals also joining them from the 2025 NFL Draft, Rice vows to put on a show.

“We got a lot of guys. We are deep in depth,” Rice told KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson at a youth football camp. “Wide receiver group, we’re going to be explosive this year. We’re just excited to put on a show to be honest. We know it’s gonna be a show. Only thing in the way right now is time, so we’re just waiting patiently.”

Rice was having an impressive campaign last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury in the first quarter of Kansas City’s Week 4 game. He had posted 288 yards and two touchdowns on 24 catches when he collided with Mahomes chasing down Chargers cornerback Kristian Fulton to force a fumble. He was successful in doing so, but it cost him the rest of the season.

“It’s a hard process,” Rice said of his recovery, highlighting that he was ready to start off where he left off last season. “If you love the game enough, it’s nothing that can really take you away or discourage you that you can’t get the job done.”

Brown and Worthy are all first-round picks but didn’t play a single snap together last season. With all three, including Rice, expected to be back for Week 1 of the 2025 season, we can finally see them in tandem and, as Rice vowed, potentially watch them putting on a show week after week.
