NBA Legend Charles Barkley Is ‘Concerned’ About His Friend Bill Belichick Amid Strange Relationship With 24-Year-Old Jordon Hudson

Charles Barkley shared his thoughts on the relationship controversy surrounding Bill Belichick, noting that he is concerned for his longtime friend.

Bill Belichick signed on as the head coach of the University of North Carolina’s football program earlier this offseason, but that hasn’t been the most prevalent story  concerning him lately.

The long-time head coach of the New England Patriots had one of the most illustrious coaching careers in NFL history. After his ouster from New England, Belichick sat out the 2024 season, so it was a bit shocking to see him take a gig in the college ranks.

Now, the 73-year-old finds himself in hot water over his peculiar relationship with his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordan Hudson.

Charles Barkley Voices Concerns About Bill Belichick’s Strange Relationship

Appearing on “The Dan Patrick” show, NBA Hall of Famer and longtime friend of Belichick, Charles Barkley, was asked about the recent controversy surrounding the head coach’s relationship.

“This is a slippery subject for me, because Bill Belichick is one of my really good friends. I’m not sure what’s going on,” Barkley began.

“I think he’s gotta be very careful right now. This is starting to be a very slippery slope. He’s the greatest football coach ever, him and Nick Saban… I never talk about people’s personal relationships, that’s another rule I’ve got. But, I will admit, I’m a little concerned with some of the stuff that’s going on,” the NBA legend admitted.

“I might reach out to him just to make sure everything is good. But I am concerned from what I’m hearing. It’s not a good look right now, I’ll admit it.”

Barkley wrapped the segment by acknowledging that he tries to prevent people in his personal life from speaking out, lest they “muddy the water” and create false narratives that the media and social media latch onto.

In case you’re out of the loop, a recent CBS interview with Belichick featured plenty of awkward exchanges about the nature of his relationship with Hudson.

The interview, which was meant to “solely” on his upcoming book, “The Art of Winning – Lessons from My Life in Football,” naturally evolved into questions about the coach’s personal life while Hudson stood in the background and carefully watched as everything transpired.

Belichick later released a statement about the interview, suggesting that CBS editing was attempting to create a false narrative about his girlfriend controlling him during the interview.

Whatever you make of their relationship, this is sure to be an ongoing story for a while, especially since he’ll have the bright spotlight of the CFB shone on him for the first time in his career.

Belichick’s contract with UNC is a five-year deal at a rate of roughly $10 million per season, but only the first three years are guaranteed.

Belichick will be one of eight coaches making at least $10 million per season in the collegiate ranks, joining Kirby Smart (Georgia), Dabo Swinney (Clemson), Steve Sarkisian (Texas), Lincoln Riley (USC), Ryan Day (Ohio State), Mike Norvell (Florida State), and Kalen DeBoer (Alabama).

He’ll have his work cut out for him, as the team finished 6-7 (3-5 in the ACC) in its first year after quarterback Drake Maye left for the NFL.
