While there are certainly worse weapon groups across the NFL, the Los Angeles Chargers — who are looking to contend for a Super Bowl — could use serious help. McConkey flashed the potential to develop into a true No. 1 target down the line after recording nine receptions for 197 yards and a touchdown in L.A.’s Wild Card Round loss to the Houston Texans.
Finding franchise quarterback Justin Herbert an experienced and reliable receiver on the trade market could be exactly what the Chargers need to reach the next level.

Chargers Predicted To Acquire Tyreek Hill in Monster Deal
The odds that Tyreek Hill will finish his career with the Miami Dolphins appear slim, especially after Miami missed the playoffs entirely in 2024. It’s hard to pinpoint when or why the two sides might part ways, but if the seemingly inevitable happens, the Chargers should be ready to make a move.
Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton predicts the Chargers will send the No. 55 pick and a 2026 fourth-rounder to the Dolphins in exchange for Hill and the No. 156 pick.
“At this stage in his career, Williams may be more effective with fewer snaps. That’s why Los Angeles should pursue Hill, who’s still performing at his peak,” Moton wrote.
“Furthermore, the Chargers lost Joshua Palmer in free agency. Quentin Johnston has struggled with drops over the last two years, sometimes in crucial situations.”
“Hill would fill a void and take full advantage of his target share as a complement to wideout Ladd McConkey,” Moton concluded.
The Chargers’ offense leaned heavily on the run during their first season under head coach Jim Harbaugh — and for good reason. Harbaugh was expected to implement a run-first system, which could work in Hill’s favor if he ends up in Los Angeles.
A heavy dose of play action could create explosive downfield opportunities for Hill, forcing defenses to respect the run and then get burned deep.
Hill is a five-time All-Pro and is two seasons removed from a monstrous 119-catch, 1,799-yard, 13-touchdown season. And though his production last season wasn’t quite as impressive, he still notched 81 catches for 959 yards and 6 touchdowns. Notably, starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa only played 11 games.
Los Angeles’ offense ranked No. 17 in PFSN’s Offense+ metric last season, and it’s hard to imagine that ranking not climbing with Herbert throwing to a former Super Bowl champion like Hill.
Meanwhile, Herbert came in at No. 14 in PFSN’s QB+ metric. Nearly everyone agrees he has the potential to be a top-five quarterback with the right supporting cast. And there’s no better way to upgrade his weapons than by landing a player of Hill’s caliber.
Nope!
Tyrell Hill is what the Chargers need!
