Theo-Sims’ segment was expected to be light and entertaining, but it quickly became one of the morning’s most talked-about moments.
During an on-air exchange, Von tried to engage reporter Jess Sims by asking, “Do I get to see you again?” Sims, without hesitation, replied, “No, I hope not.”

Von’s time on GameDay continued to spark conversation for more reasons than one. Appearing live from Tuscaloosa, he picked the road team, Vanderbilt, to beat Alabama for the second straight year, a move that went against the grain just moments after Nick Saban himself predicted a Crimson Tide win.

Von’s connection to Vanderbilt runs deeper than his guest appearance. The Nashville resident lives in the former home of ex-Vanderbilt coach Derek Mason and has been spotted supporting the Commodores all season.
Earlier this year, he even made a bet with quarterback Diego Pavia, who promised Von a date with his mother if Vanderbilt beat South Carolina, a game the Commodores went on to win.
