DPS Trooper Punished After Incident During Texas A&M Game

The Texas A&M Police Department revealed on X that the trooper had been relieved of his duties after the incident.

“We are aware of the incident in the NE tunnel involving a DPS trooper. He has been relieved of his game-day assignment,” the tweet read.

The Texas Department of Public Safety also tweeted about the incident, further revealing that an investigation was ongoing.

“The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is aware of the incident that occurred today during the Texas A&M football game. The DPS Trooper involved was sent home from the game. Our Office of Inspector General (OIG) is also aware of the incident and will be further looking into the matter. No additional information will be released at this time,” the DPS tweeted.

The outcry by college football fans on various social media platforms was immediate as the clip went viral.

LeBron James Reacts to Rogue Aggies Cop’s Behavior

The incident in the Aggies versus Gamecocks game led to an outcry, and Lakers star LeBron James tweeted his indignation at the DPS trooper’s behavior on X and called for him to be punished.

“That A&M cop needs to be suspended! That was premeditated and corny AF!! He went out his way to start some shit. Do better man,” James tweeted.

Aside from the incident with the DPS trooper, the Aggies mounted the biggest comeback in school history to maintain their flawless start to the season and improve to 10-0. Elko’s team is now in a prime position to reach the SEC championship game and clinch a spot in the College Football Playoff, where they still hold one of the four berths that would give them a first-round bye.
