The No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies were on upset alert in Week 12 of college football action when they hosted the South Carolina Gamecocks in College Station. For most of the game, the upset appeared to be unfolding exactly as it did last season for coach Mike Elko, whose reports revealed on Saturday are on the verge of signing a contract extension.
The Aggies were down 30-3 at halftime on the back of an inspired South Carolina performance, before making a comeback for the ages to hold the Gamecocks scoreless in the second half and win the game 31-30.

Aside from the incident with the DPS trooper, the Aggies mounted the biggest comeback in school history to maintain their flawless start to the season and improve to 10-0. Elko’s team is now in a prime position to reach the SEC championship game and clinch a spot in the College Football Playoff, where they still hold one of the four berths that would give them a first-round bye.
