‘We’ve Got One Coming Soon’ — Texas 2026 QB Commit Dia Bell Hints at Major Longhorns Recruiting Win

Texas 2026 QB commit Dia Bell hints at a major 2026 addition for the Longhorns and earns Day 1’s top spot at the Elite 11 Finals.

Texas continues to gain ground on the recruiting trail, and five-star quarterback Dia Bell is fueling the latest buzz. A foundational piece of the Longhorns’ 2026 class, Bell recently teased an upcoming commitment that could boost the program’s national stature.

On3 ranks Bell as the No. 2 quarterback in the 2026 cycle, so Bell’s presence already strengthens Texas’s class. His comments only heightened anticipation of what could be another major win for the Longhorns.

Dia Bell’s Recruiting Tease Fuels Hype Around Texas Football’s 2026 Class

Five-star Texas quarterback commit Bell hinted at a potential new addition to the Longhorns’ 2026 class during an interview with 247Sports at the Elite 11 event in Los Angeles, California, this week.

“I think we got one coming soon… You guys should see it on the internet,” Bell said. “Happy about that. It’s been going good.”

Bell committed to Texas on June 17, 2024, and has since become one of the most vocal recruiters in the class. The American Heritage (FL) standout is ranked as the No. 5 quarterback nationally and the No. 3 overall prospect in Florida, per 247Sports.

Before pledging to the Longhorns, Bell fielded offers from Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, and Penn State and received a Georgia offer in January. In 2024, he threw for 2,597 yards with 29 touchdowns and six picks, adding 561 rushing yards and five scores. His season ended prematurely with an injury in the playoffs, but his team rallied to win.

Texas’ 2026 recruiting class features five-star prospects Trott O’Neal and Jermaine Bishop Jr., and four-star offensive linemen Dylan Berymon and Corey Wells. Other commits include kicker Jake Collett, punter Mikey Bukauskas, and cornerback Hayward Howard Jr.

Dia Bell Shines at Elite 11 Finals, Earns Day 1’s Top Spot on Rivals Rankings

Texas quarterback commit Bell made an immediate impact at the Elite 11 Finals on Wednesday, earning the No. 1 ranking on Rivals’ Top Ten performers list for Day 1. The event, hosted at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, California, featured the top high school quarterbacks in the country.

Rivals’ national recruiting director Adam Gorney named Bell the top performer after the five-star Texas pledge displayed elite arm strength, accuracy, and timing, especially in red zone passing situations.

Gorney ranked Bell ahead of Landon Duckworth (No. 2) and Keisean Henderson (No. 3), underscoring his dominance during the opening round of drills.

A product of American Heritage in Florida, Bell continues to draw comparisons to former Elite 11 alums like Trevor Lawrence and Andrew Luck. If his early performance is any indication, the future Longhorn may be on track for a breakout showing and potential MVP honors.

For now, though, Bell has one more season of high school ball remaining before he moves on to Austin, Texas.
