Today, Dante Moore shocked the college football world and the NFL world alike when he announced that he would be returning to the University of Oregon for the 2026 season. Despite Moore’s return, the team signed Dylan Raiola from the transfer portal. Here’s what Moore had to say on Oregon’s loaded quarterback room.
Dante Moore Views Himself as a Mentor for Dylan Raiola
Between himself and Fernando Mendoza, Moore was slotted to be one of the first quarterbacks taken in the 2026 NFL Draft.
According to various sources, including PFSN’s 2026 mock drafts, his most common landing spot was the New York Jets with the second overall pick. However, he will forget the draft and return to Oregon, where he will share a quarterback room with Raiola.
Regarding sharing the quarterback room, Moore had this to say on the situation. “I know when he comes here, he’s gonna be a great guy for the QB room. I’m gonna make sure to give him the thoughts that Dillon Gabriel did for me.”

Before joining Oregon, he started his college career at UCLA with the Bruins. In 2024, he transferred and sat behind Dillon Gabriel, who seemed to be giving Moore solid advice. Now, he plans to do the same for Raiola.
In the 2025 season, Moore led the Ducks to a 13-1 regular-season record before losing to the Indiana Hoosiers in the college football playoffs. He completed 71.8% of passes for 3565 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Additionally, he added 156 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in 73 attempts. In PFSN College QB Impact Metrics, Moore ranked 22nd with an impact score of 85.9 and a letter grade of B.
In nine games this season at the University of Nebraska, Raiola completed 72.4% of passes for 2000 yards, 18 touchdowns, and six interceptions. In PFSN’s CFB QBi, he finished the season ranked 90th with an impact score of 77.1 and a letter grade of C+.
The choice to stay an extra year is definitely an interesting one for Moore. On one hand, he could improve his stock to be the bona fide number one overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. On the other hand, poor play could ruin his stock and lead to Raiola taking over for the Ducks, ultimately losing him millions of dollars he could’ve made in the NFL.
