With the kickoff for the first round of the College Football Playoff approaching, roster activity is becoming a crucial component. Miami has released a vital injury update ahead of their game in the first round of the CFP against Texas A&M on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at noon ET.
Miami’s initial CFP Injury Report includes four players in various categories. Wide receiver Daylyn Upshaw has been ruled doubtful, while defensive back Damari Brown is listed as questionable. Defensive back Keionte Scott is considered probable. Linebacker Malik Bryant, however, is officially ruled out and will not make an appearance in the first round of the CFP.
How Will Miami’s Injury Report Impact the Hurricanes?
With both teams eager to win this game and advance to the CFP quarterfinals, the health of their rosters could play a significant role in the results.
Daylyn Upshaw’s doubtful status is unlikely to alter Miami’s offensive approach significantly. The receiver has played in a total of five games this season, recording seven receptions for 105 yards. Quarterback Carson Beck is expected to lean heavily on primary targets, including wide receiver Malachi Toney, in the playoff matchup.

The greater concern lies with the defense. Damari Brown has 16 solo tackles this season and remains questionable. Keionte Scott has not appeared in a game since Miami’s November 15, 2025, victory over NC State. In the games he played, he has totaled 30 solo tackles, three sacks, and an interception. If he were able to play, his presence would strengthen Miami’s defense on Saturday.
Malik Bryant has been sidelined for the majority of the season after appearing in only two games against Notre Dame on August 31 and the following week against Boston College on September 6.
Texas A&M has a potent offense that will test Miami’s defense throughout the game. By having Brown and Scott play, Miami would be able to continuously rotate defensive backs on the defense to try to slow down the Aggies’ offense.
Miami is expected to issue a final availability update closer to kickoff. With several players who could be inactive, Saturday’s early game rotations could be affected. As the Hurricanes prepare for their postseason opener, roster health and execution will be two very important components in determining how Miami matches up in the CFP.
