LSU Sets a New Jersey Trend Via Multi-Year Deal With Woodside Energy

The global energy company will serve as an Official Energy Partner of LSU Athletics, and its logo will be uniquely placed on the Tigers’ purple and gold color scheme beginning next season.

“Beginning in the 2026-27 athletic year, Woodside Energy will be featured on every LSU team’s uniform and apparel in a uniquely designed logo in Purple and Gold,” an X post announcing the agreement read.

According to LSU Vice President and Director of Athletics Verge Ausberry, the partnership with Woodside is a monumental step for the university’s athletic program in general and its student-athletes in particular.

“LSU continues to set the standard and remains at the forefront of this new era of collegiate athletics, and we are excited to align athletic excellence with community impact through this historic collaboration,” Ausberry added.

Woodside Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer International, Daniel Kalms, expressed excitement about the historic initiative, which signifies the company’s long-term commitment to the state of Louisiana.

“This collaboration goes beyond the playing field, it supports student-athletes and the Louisiana community, and builds a meaningful legacy in the state,” Kalms said.

The partnership with Woodside Energy is not just about sports; the firm will serve as an Official Community Partner of LSU Athletics, meaning it will act as a team to develop community programs across the state to meet residents’ needs.

Clay Harris, LSU Deputy Director of Athletics, described the joint venture as a “transformational moment and speaks to the trajectory of college sports.”

“We are proud to be pioneers in this space and to do so in a way that has such a profound impact on LSU student-athletes and the state of Louisiana. We are beyond thrilled to welcome Woodside Energy to LSU and the LSU Athletics family,” Harris said.

To highlight its long-term commitment to the Tigers, the Baton Rouge community, and the state of Louisiana, Woodside will have a prominent presence at all athletic venues through signage and will have plenty of marketing assets across all university sports channels.

Sarah Bairstow, President of Woodside Louisiana LNG, said that both companies strive for the same qualities, including integrity, respect, and excellence in operations. Bairstow added that the company is proud to support LSU student-athletes “who are putting these values into action.”

The partnership was backed by the university’s official multimedia rights holder, Playfly Sports (DBA LSU Sports Properties), a sports-sector revenue-maximization company.
