It’s been a wild ride for the LSU Tigers. From firing Brian Kelly to hiring Lane Kiffin, the off-season’s been a busy one, and firing Kelly actually helped their recruiting efforts. Kiffin continues working on the class, and there’s plenty of talent still unsigned to get.

Who Is the Top Recruit in the 2026 LSU Football Recruiting Class?

While Kiffin and the staff continue working on top recruit Lamar Brown to sign, there’s plenty of talent that already signed. Defensive lineman Richard Anderson decided to stay home with the Tigers, and gives them impressive size to bolster their line.

Anderson stands 6’4″ and 340 pounds, and LSU’s been familiar with him for a long time. Playing at the local Edna Karr high school in New Orleans, Anderson’s a huge get for the Tigers. They beat out a number of programs to get him, so this is a huge win for the program.

Where Does the 2026 LSU Class Rank Nationally?

Currently, the 2026 LSU football recruiting class ranks 12th overall nationally, per 247 Sports. The class includes one five-star (Anderson), six four-stars, and four three-stars that signed with the them. They also hold four more commitments from one five-star and three four-star recruits, which could help them move up nationally.

One of the biggest knocks on Kiffin was his high school recruiting, so the program hopes that things will be different with LSU. This class puts them sixth within the SEC, but gives them an impressive start to the Kiffin era.
