Alabama has become a factory for NFL offensive tackles in recent years. In 2024, former Crimson Tide player JC Latham was selected with the seventh overall pick. In 2025, Latham’s teammate, Tyler Booker, was selected with the eleventh overall pick.
At the moment, Crimson Tide starter Kaydn Proctor looks set to become the next in a long line of Alabama offensive tackles to be drafted. According to PFN’s Player OL impact, the tackle is ranked as the sixteenth overall in College Football, and third in the SEC.

No. 6 Alabama Crimson Tide hosts the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers in Tuscaloosa today, in a game that could have massive playoff implications. Ahead of the game, Proctor spoke to the SEC network, revealing some advice he received from Latham and Booker.

“Kadyn Proctor told SEC Network that Tyler Booker and JC Latham called him after the Florida State loss and told him he wasn’t playing fast enough,” revealed CBS Sports Alabama reporter Mike Rodak ahead of today’s game.
Proctor was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2024 after starting 11 games at left tackle. In his freshman season, Proctor was also named to the All-SEC Freshman team after starting 13 games at the position.

During the Crimson Tide’s 31-17 shocking loss to the Seminoles. Proctor had the most pressures allowed with six pressures, which was the most out of any offensive tackle in that game. These pressures also included a sack on quarterback Ty Simpson.
“I didn’t play well at all versus Florida State. Got people saying I’m not playing to my ability, and I knew that. I took that to heart and just had to do my 1/11, do my job.” The offensive tackle shared after the loss.
Proctor apparently took Booker and Latham’s advice to heart. Following his performance against the Seminoles, the Crimson Tide has gone undefeated with the tackle starting. He allowed just four pressures in total and zero sacks in the four games that followed.

“Proctor’s also heard that NFL teams’ “only concern is my weight,” which he said was 400+ pounds as a freshman.” Rodak also revealed in his report, according to Dave Ballou, that he has already dropped from 400+ pounds as a Freshman to 356.2 now.
“He’s all about the work. He’s got that edge to him on the football field. He’s really continued to work on improving his body composition. It’s been a show of commitment that has led to really good results here.” Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer revealed.
As the Crimson Tide and Proctor continue to improve week after week, they will face one of their toughest tests today. The No. 6 Crimson Tide will host the No. 11 Volunteers today at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
