Jordan Seaton Praises Travis Hunter’s Work Ethic Over Shedeur Sanders Amid QB’s Browns Struggles

Jordan Seaton praises Travis Hunter's work ethic over teammate Shedeur Sanders, whose NFL journey with the Browns hits early roadblocks.

Before joining the NFL, Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders lit up college football with incredible performances. Not only did they captivate die-hard fans, but their influence rippled through locker rooms and future draft classes. Among the most attentive admirers is rising star Jordan Seaton, who watched and studied their every move.

Jordan Seaton Praises Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, Highlights Hunter’s Work Ethic

Seaton started all 13 games in 2024 for the Colorado Buffaloes. He became the first true freshman OT to open the season for Colorado and the first in the Big 12 since Texas’s Kelvin Banks in 2022.

He played alongside Hunter and Sanders, absorbing lessons from their game and presence. In a recent interview with SeeHendo, Seaton spotlighted Hunter’s unmatched work ethic as a key influence.

“Two of your teammates from last year… Travis and Shedeur are both in the league. They’re some dawgs, man. Can you talk about both of them, what they meant to you?” the SeeHendo host asked.

“Yeah, they’re both dawgs. For me, Travis was more solid. He showed me what it was like day in, day out, as far as work ethic. And for me, that was one thing that I appreciated about him. He would lead by example, and right now that is what I’m doing, trying to lead by example and take them traits from both of the guys,” Seaton said.

“And Shedeur, I was with him more because we were on the offense side of it. Like, that’s my brother.”

Hunter’s work ethic isn’t just hype. In 2024, he became Colorado’s second-ever Heisman Trophy winner, joining Rashaan Salaam (1994). Hunter was the first full-time two-way player to win the Heisman since the early 1960s and the first since Charles Woodson to earn the honor while contributing on both sides of the ball.

He tallied 2,231 points in Heisman voting, edging out Ashton Jeanty and Dillon Gabriel. In the 2025 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars made him the No. 2 overall pick. Two weeks later, he graduated with a degree in anthropology and a 3.79 GPA.

While Hunter soared, Sanders took a bumpier path. Despite a stellar 2024 season at Colorado, throwing 37 touchdown passes and entering the draft as a top QB prospect, he slid unexpectedly to the fifth round.

Next Friday, Sanders reports to the Browns’ final training camp, hoping to prove he’s more than a draft-day oversight. During OTAs and minicamp, he was the only QB not given first-team reps, while Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and rookie Dillon Gabriel all saw action.

Insiders initially favored Flacco to start, thanks to his 2023 run. However, recent talks suggest that HC Kevin Stefanski prefers Pickett, based on comments by WR Diontae Johnson. Analysts predict a shakeup: Flacco will be cut, Pickett will be named the starter, and Gabriel and Sanders will be kept as backups.
