‘1000x Worse Than Anything (Pat) McAfee Has Done’ – CFB Fans Rip ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit for ‘Delusional Narcissism’ Over His Dog Peter’s Store

College football Saturdays are back, but some fans aren't thrilled with the publicity Kirk Herbstreit's dog, Peter's been getting.

College football Saturdays have returned. Fans got a bit of everything, from last-second comebacks to incredible QB/WR performances. While those were some of the positives, spectators were also very vocal about a few things they didn’t enjoy, like Pat McAfee on ESPN’s “College GameDay” and continued exposure to Kirk Herbstreit’s dog, Peter.

Kirk Herbstreit’s Dog Catching Strays on Social Media

Just when commenters on social media started making it appear like McAfee was the most disliked figure in college football, a new contender emerged.

On Saturday, Herbstreit’s “Peter Fan Club” store opened in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Yes, it’s an entire store filled only with apparel themed around Herbstreit’s dog, Peter.

One commenter noted, “This is 1000x worse than anything Pat McAfee has ever done.

OutKick said, “Please tell me this is a joke.” Unfortunately, it’s 100% real.

One commenter even said the store was a product of “delusional narcissism on a level I’ve never seen.”

“This is delusional narcissism on a level I’ve never seen.”

Brian Davis found it a bit silly too, adding, “And this isn’t even the original dog. It’s the backup.”

Tyler Forness of AtoZSports called Peter “the most annoying thing in college football.”

“Kirk Herbstreit’s dog went from being a cool, heartwarming story to the most annoying thing in college football.”

Another commenter called the whole fascination with Herbstreit’s dog “unnatural, forced and beyond weird.

“This is unnatural, forced, and beyond weird. There is no audience for this. It’s like doublespeak and being shoved down our throats. No one gives a [expletive] that Kirk owns a dog??”

Even a self-proclaimed dog lover is sick of seeing and hearing about Peter on TV rather than more college football coverage.

“I love dogs, but this clown is starting to make me hate dogs.”

We’ll see how well Peter’s store does, but if the local response to the pop-up store in Baton Rouge is anything like the early social reactions, it may not stick around for long.
