Fans Outraged Over ‘Classless’ Pat McAfee GameDay Act As They Lament Lee Corso’s Retirement

College football fans are missing Lee Corso after Pat McAfee's latest antics on College GameDay's appearance at the No. 4 Miami-Florida game.

ESPN’s College GameDay has not been the same since celebrating the end of Lee Corso’s career in Week 1, with Pat McAfee having since taken over as the final panelist to announce his pick for game days.

Corso was known for announcing his picks by utilizing mascot heads. While McAfee is undoubtedly looking to honor Corso and his legacy, he’s also looking to make his own mark on College GameDay. In doing so on Saturday, ahead of No. 4 Miami’s upcoming game against Florida, he quite literally took the show to new heights.

Fans Stunned by Pat McAfee’s Latest GameDay Antics

McAfee left his desk for the high dive, climbing the ladder, unveiling a Speedo, and picking the Miami Hurricanes to take down the Florida Gators in Saturday night’s matchup before pencil diving into the waters below.

And while its a fact college football fans pretty much always tune into GameDay, this latest act didn’t go over too well with them.

“Show gets worse every week,” one fan said.

“What an embarrassment this clown [Pat McAfee] is,” said another.

“Bet McAfee was salivating when Corso left. College Gameday went from class act with Corso to classless with McAfee,” ya third football fan said.

McAfee, also the host of “The Pat McAfee Show” on ESPN, had an eight-year career in the NFL after being a placekicker for the West Virginia Mountaineers. He retired from playing in February of 2017.

“I can’t believe we College GameDay has made the idiot [Pat McAfee] the center of the show. He has ruined the show,” said another fan.

“Miami vs UF is not a rivalry. It has not been a rivalry since before I was born. Please stop calling this a rivalry game. Nobody who has attended FSU, UF, or Miami would ever call this game a rivalry game. And Pat, love you, but you’re not Lee,” one Florida college football fan finally said.

Regardless of fans’ opinions on McAfee and whether this leg of the “Florida Cup” is actually a rivalry or not, kick-off between Miami (3-0) and the Gators (1-2) is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium. The game will be televised on ABC.
