EA Sports just dropped its Road to Glory trailer, revealing major updates to the fan-favorite mode ahead of College Football 26’s highly anticipated release.

EA Sports College Football 26 will be released in just under two weeks, and fans are excited for the game’s latest edition after the series was revived last summer.

Everything You Need to Know From EA Sports’ Road to Glory Trailer

EA Sports College Football 26 dropped its “Official Road to Glory Trailer” on its YouTube Channel on June 27, 2025. A video voiced by ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit breaks down some of this year’s Road to Glory’s new features.

Road to Glory is a career-style game mode in which users can create a player and simulate their college careers. The user picks their player’s position and tries to turn them into one of the greatest college football players of all time.

High School Football Returns With New Features

Fans were disappointed to find out that in College Football 25, they would not be able to start their Road to Glory journey in high school, unlike previous iterations before the game’s hiatus. The good news is that high school is back in College Football 26, and it has been revamped since its last appearance in 2013.

“Begin your legacy as a high school recruit,” Herbstreit said. “The foundation of your entire career hinges on weekly themes based on your archetype, each offering unique gameplay opportunities to impact your tape score and star rating.”

It is important to note that users will not be able to play an entire season, but rather key moments throughout their senior year of high school that will impact their recruiting status. While this might be a slight disappointment for some, overall, having high school back in Road to Glory is a significant win for fans of the mode.

When it comes time to commit, players will also have a custom hat ceremony with the teams in contention.

New On-Field Play Features and Coach Trust System

As if working your way up a roster and becoming a team’s starter was not challenging enough, EA Sports has added a new in-game benching feature. Users now risk being benched mid-game if their play is not up to the coach’s standard.

“The new per-play grading system, as well as coach happiness, can determine whether you stay in the game, or risk being benched, or worse, suspended,” Herbstreit said.

This year, an interesting challenge has been added. Your status on the depth chart will not only be affected by your on-field play week to week, but also by your off-field decisions and actions within the new “Coach Trust” system.

College Football Road to Glory and Madden Superstar Cross-Play

Like last year’s pair of games, this pair of College Football 26 and Madden 26 will feature the ability to take their Road to Glory player and transfer them to the “Superstar” career mode in Madden, EA Sports’ NFL game.

“Continue your football journey, taking it seamlessly to the next level,” Herbstreit said. “Enhance your NFL draft experience by importing your Road to Glory player into Madden NFL 26’s Superstar mode.”

It is an epic addition to the game, which will allow fans to control their players’ entire football careers, from high school to the NFL. Overall, the EA Sports developers seem to have implemented many new things into College Football 26’s Road to Glory mode, and fans can expect a much overhauled experience while playing it.

College Football 26 will be released worldwide on July 10, 2025, with early access available on July 7, 2025, for those who purchase the Deluxe Edition or the MVP Bundle.
