New Road to Glory Feature Lets You Join Your Team’s Runout in EA College Football 26

With just a couple of weeks until the release of EA Sports College Football 26, news of new features is being released.

EA Sports revived its College Football game last year after a decade-long hiatus. When the company announced they were bringing back one of the most beloved sports games of all time, fans exploded with excitement.

The fan-favorite game mode ‘Road to Glory’ made its return in last year’s game, where fans can play the career of a college football player. EA was met with backlash when fans learned that there would not be a high school portion of ‘Road to Glory,’ but the company announced they would be remedying that in College Football 26.

Along with that major change, the company has reportedly also added other new features to the mode, including a view of your player running out of the tunnel.

College Football 26 Road to Glory Features Player-Controlled Runout Experience

EA gave a limited number of creators early access to College Football 26’s beta version, and as the game’s release approaches, those creators have been able to give fans more updates on what they saw while playing the game’s beta.

One of those creators was college football YouTuber James Bordeaux, who has over 400,000 subscribers. He revealed to fans on X that College Football 26’s ‘Road to Glory’ (RTG) will include a view of your player running out of the tunnel before every college and high school game.

“One of the sickest features coming to Road to Glory is you get to be a part of your team’s runout each week, this goes for high school as well. You can’t really control where you run, but you can look around with the camera to see it from every angle,” Bordeaux said.

It’s a cool update to an already great game mode. EA’s official presentation deep dive confirms that Road to Glory Runouts are specifically designed for the RTG experience, offering a more personal view where you are actually in the runout from the tunnel to running across the field.

Unlike other runouts, the RTG runout sequence uses a player-controlled camera that gives you the perspective of your athlete.

Complete College Football Journey from High School to Heisman

In ‘Road to Glory,’ users can play the entire career of a football player. In College Football 26, your player’s career will start in high school, where you will play your senior season. Depending on your performance, you will gain offers from different tiers of schools.

After you commit to a school, you will then be able to go through your player’s entire college career, working your way up the depth chart and attempting to become one of the top players in the nation. Choose from 10 new archetypes and rise from high school recruit to Heisman glory, with every decision shaping how your career will look.

While runouts might not seem like the biggest change, they will help users immerse themselves in the world of their player and allow them to feel like they are actually in the tunnel and running out on the field. Use the right stick to look around in the tunnel and up at the fireworks blasting off as you hear 80 to 100,000 fans screaming for you!

The more creators have announced about the game, the more it seems like the developers have really devoted time to make the game seem as real as possible for users, which should result in a pretty awesome product.

With over 2,800 new plays and unique schemes like Rice’s Modern Option and Penn State’s Gadget Heavy, thousands of players, and over 300 real-world coaches with true-to-life schemes, this is EA’s most authentic college football experience yet.

College Football 26 will be released worldwide on July 10, 2025, with early access available on July 7 for those who purchase the Deluxe Edition.
