‘Horrible,’ ‘I Hate This For College Football’ — Ohio State’s Shiny New $142,700 Suites Fail to Impress CFB Fans

College football fans on X blasted the Ohio State Buckeyes' new premium suites at the south endzone of Ohio Stadium.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are installing premium, field-level suites in the south end zone of Ohio Stadium. The new suites, which can hold up to 12 people, including eight standing spots, will cost $142,700 each.

But while those swanky new boxes will rake in the money, college football fans are just about done with the corporatization of sports.

CFB Fans Blast Ohio State’s Field-Level Suites

The Buckeyes’ suites are still under construction ahead of their season-opening game against the Ball State Cardinals.

College football fans on X had mixed reactions to the Buckeyes’ premium suites.

Reporter Tim Buckley was puzzled by the obsession with endzone suites in pro and college football.

Radio host Jonathan Smith blasted the Buckeyes for moving the students farther away from the action on the field.

One fan pointed out the design flaw that will hamper the fan’s viewing experience in the suites.

Jay Fontana was critical of the practicality of watching the game from the suites.

One person was highly critical of the commercialization of the fan experience. “Next they will sell a locker room suite so you can watch the players while they get ready,” the fan mocked.

Another concluded that the seats were not for actual fans of the game. “These are for people who have no interest in the actual game. Just want to be seen,” they wrote.

In addition to the suites, a new turf has also been installed at The Shoe, which has a capacity of 102,780.

Coach Ryan Day’s Buckeyes are among the favorites to win the Big Ten and the national championship this season as the Big Ten’s dominance threatens to take over college football.
