College Football Offensive Power Rankings Ahead of Week 5: Vanderbilt, Indiana Surge Up the Ranks

The latest college football offense rankings feature some outstanding performances from Vanderbilt, Indiana and others, setting up the Week 5 slate.

Though teams are still working through the kinks before surging into conference play in the coming weeks, Week 4 of the 2025 college football season brought plenty of fireworks. And while several of the top offenses were on a bye week, others stepped into the fray and gave their own bid as one of the best units in the nation.

As part of our weekly coverage, we ranked every offense in the country according to PFSN’s OFFi metrics and grades, providing full analysis on the top 25 before revealing the best of the rest. Let’s get into it.

25) Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

PFSN OFFi Grade: 84. 6 (B)

The Yellow Jackets rolled to their fourth straight win thanks to a standout offensive effort. Quarterback Haynes King makes the engine go, and while he’s thrown just two touchdown passes, he’s rushed for 274 yards and five scores, proving himself to be one of the most dynamic and explosive players in college football — regardless of position.

24) Georgia Bulldogs

PFSN OFFi Grade: 84.7 (B)

On the heels of a 44-point performance against Tennessee in Week 3, the Bulldogs, not normally known for their offense, land just inside the top 25.

Against the Volunteers, the running game nearly reached 200 yards in scoring three touchdowns while quarterback Gunner Stockton threw for over 300 yards. They’ll be tested against a solid Alabama squad in Week 5.

23) Auburn Tigers

PFSN OFFi Grade: 85.2 (B)

Though they struggled in Week 4 against a stout Oklahoma defense, Auburn has been dominant on the ground early in the season. In total, they’ve rushed for 793 yards and 11 touchdowns through four games, led by star running Jeremiah Cobb, who’s emerged as the go-to back alongside quarterback Jackson Arnold — also a premier threat with his legs.

22) UCF Knights

PFSN OFFi Grade: 85.3 (B)

The Knights validated themselves as a top offense in Week 4, putting up 34 points on North Carolina in their three-touchdown-plus victory. It was an extremely balanced attack, with the ground attack amassing 143 yards and three scores, and quarterback Tayven Jackson converting 25 of 32 passes for 223 yards and a touchdown.

21) Virginia Cavaliers

PFSN OFFi Grade: 85.4 (B)

Chandler Morris, formerly of Oklahoma, TCU, and North Texas, has been excellent to start the season for the Cavaliers after posing lofty goals in the spring.

The sixth-year senior has thrown eight touchdowns versus just one interception in leading the team to a 3-1 start. In Week 4 against Stanford, he threw three touchdowns to wide receiver Trell Harris, who appears set for a breakout campaign.

20) Miami (FL) Hurricanes

PFSN OFFi Grade: 85.5 (B)

The Hurricanes continued their hot start offensively against Florida, as they broke free from a slow start and finished on a high note with two touchdowns in the final five minutes to put the game away.

College Football Predictions Week 5: Projecting Every Single Game Including Oregon vs. Penn State

Thanks to a mid-career turnaround, transfer quarterback Carson Beck from Georgia has emerged as one of the favorites for the Heisman Trophy.

19) Navy Midshipmen

PFSN OFFi Grade: 86.3 (B)

The Midshipmen had the weekend off due to a bye week, but still managed to rush for 300 yards. Just kidding — but it would make sense considering they’ve racked up 1,126 rush yards and 15 touchdowns through three games. That’s downright dominance, old-school style.

18) Utah Utes

PFSN OFFi Grade: 86.4 (B)

Despite a rough loss in which the Utes’ offense looked stuck in the mud, Utah still lands inside the top-20 due to three dominant efforts at the beginning of the season.

Quarterback Devon Dampier, who transferred from New Mexico, has been electric through the air and with his legs. He’s transformed a previously dormant Utes offense into one that’s feared in the Big 12.

17) Cincinnati Bearcats

PFSN OFFi Grade: 87.4 (B+)

The Bearcats had a bye in Week 4, coming off the heels of a 70-0 win the week prior. They gave the scoreboard a weekend off, that’s for sure.

We’ll see if they can continue their excellence this week against Kansas, which doesn’t have the strongest defensive unit but is a far cry from Bowling Green and Northwestern State, Cincinnati’s Week 2 and 3 opponents.

16) Ole Miss Rebels

PFSN OFFi Grade: 87.4 (B+)

Filling in for the injured Austin Simmons again, quarterback Trinidad Chambliss stood out in a big way for the Rebels. He finished with 419 total yards and two passing scores, putting pressure on head coach Lane Kiffin over which passer will start once Simmons is healthy — a good problem to have.

15) Texas Tech Red Raiders

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 87.5 (B+)

Against a more formidable opponent in Utah than in recent weeks, the Red Raiders’ offense still impressed with 34 points. It came because of an unlikely contributor: backup quarterback Will Hammond, who came in after Behren Morton got injured.

Week 4 College Football Players of the Week: Demond Williams Jr. Wows, Jordan Napier Helps Deliver Shock San Diego State Win

All Hammond did was complete 13 of 16 passes for 169 yards and two touchdowns, blowing the game wide open.

14) Mississippi State Bulldogs

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 87.5 (B+)

Taking on Northern Illinois this week, the Bulldogs enforced their will in rushing for nearly 300 yards and scoring four touchdowns. Quarterback Blake Shapen continued his efficient football, throwing for 160 yards and a score with next to no mistakes.

We’ll find out soon enough if this Mississippi State offense is for real, as they’ll go through a tough SEC schedule.

13) Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 87.5 (B+)

Rutgers couldn’t quite do enough to beat Iowa on Friday night, but that was largely due to their defense. The offense scored 28 points and outgained the Hawkeyes while holding the ball for more time, but it couldn’t come away with the win.

Just like Mississippi State, we’ll find out real quick if the Scarlet Knights are for real offensively, as they take on several of the Big Ten’s top teams.

12) Ohio State Buckeyes

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 87.7 (B+)

The Buckeyes enjoyed their bye week after three solid wins to kick off the season. Quarterback Julian Sayin, starting for the first time at the collegiate level, has met any and all expectations for him.

He’s thrown for 779 yards, eight touchdowns, and three interceptions and looks capable of leading Ohio State’s national title defense.

11) Tennessee Volunteers

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 87.9 (B+)

The Volunteers, coming off a disappointing high-scoring loss to Georgia, rebounded with a 32-point victory against UAB in Week 4. They played a balanced brand of football, throwing for 275 yards and running for another 235 yards. It’s hard not to consider Tennessee amongst the top offenses in the SEC.

10) Missouri Tigers

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 89.8 (B+)

The Tigers managed to beat a solid South Carolina team on Saturday thanks to a fourth-quarter offensive surge, as they scored 11 points in the final stanza to notch the win.

College Football Bowl Projections Ahead of Week 5: Surprising Teams Enter College Football Playoff Hunt

Quarterback Beau Pribula turned in his first mediocre performance of the season, but star running back Ahmad Hardy was the bell-cow again, rushing 22 times for 138 yards and a touchdown.

9) TCU Horned Frogs

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 90.1 (A-)

Horned Frogs quarterback Josh Hoover was on a different level this week against SMU, accounting for all five scores for TCU and throwing for 379 yards. The explosives down the field make this offense go, with wide receiver Eric McAlister catching eight passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns.

The Horned Frogs look legit and could challenge for a Big 12 title.

8) Alabama Crimson Tide

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 90.8 (A-)

Coming off a bye week, the Crimson Tide will face its toughest test yet: Georgia in Athens. Though first-year starting quarterback Ty Simpson has seemingly found his rhythm, he’ll need more help from the run game, which has averaged just 4.3 yards per carry in three games.

Wide receivers Germie Bernard and Ryan Williams may need to carry a bigger load on the outside if they’re to beat the Bulldogs. Fortunately, it sounds like running back Jam Miller could potentially return for the game.

7) Oregon Ducks

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 90.8 (A-)

While the Ducks have dominated in the run game all season, it was quarterback Dante Moore who excelled in Week 4 against Oregon State.

Moore, who transferred to Oregon in 2023 after a dreadful true freshman campaign at UCLA, passed for a career-high four touchdown passes in leading the Ducks to 41 points.

6) Indiana Hoosiers

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 91.3 (A-)

The most outstanding performance of the week has to go to the Hoosiers, who decimated the ninth-ranked Fighting Illini, coming away with a 53-point victory.

Quarterback Fernando Mendoza finally found his rhythm after transferring from California this offseason, as he completed 21 of 23 passes for 267 yards and five pass touchdowns.

5) Arkansas Razorbacks

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 91.9 (A-)

Arkansas’s defense has let the team down, but that’s certainly not the case for the offense, which has scored over 31 points in all four games this season.

Week 4 College Football Team of the Week: Demond Williams Jr., Adam Randall Headline the Nation’s Best Players

Taylen Green has done it all for the Razorbacks, leading the team in rushing and passing for over 1,100 yards and 12 touchdowns.

4) USC Trojans

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 93.1 (A)

Despite the loss of star wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane before their game against Michigan State, the Trojans still scored 45 points. Fellow wideout Makai Lemon picked up the slack, catching eight passes for 127 yards and a touchdown.

USC is playing a different brand of football than in years past: physical on the ground mixed with explosives through the air.

3) Vanderbilt Commodores

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 94.9 (A)

A year after losing to Georgia State, the Commodores hung 70 points on them in Week 4, earning an “A” grade from our metrics.

Their four wins have come largely thanks to their offense, which quarterback Diego Pavia leads. The Commodores have quietly emerged as a dark horse in the loaded SEC.

2) Florida State Seminoles

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 96.0 (A)

Nobody can seem to stop the Seminoles. Though they faced lowly Kent State this week, they put up 66 points two weeks after scoring 77 against East Texas A&M.

With transfer quarterback Tommy Castellanos leading the way, Florida State looks downright unstoppable and is dominating with ease.

1) Washington Huskies

Week 4 PFSN OFFi Grade: 99.2 (A+)

The Huskies’ offense continued their reign as the best in college football in Week 4, as quarterback Demond Williams Jr. scored five total touchdowns and running back Jonah Coleman reached the end zone three times.

A huge test against Ohio State looms, in which we’ll find out if Washington’s offense is truly one of the best in the nation.
