Five down, four to go, for the Oregon Ducks as they seek to defend their Big Ten crown. The odds are stacked against Dan Lanning’s team, with the Ohio State Buckeyes and Indiana Hoosiers masters of their own destiny. The bye week comes at a good time for the Ducks. Quarterback Dante Moore left the Week 9 game against the Wisconsin Badgers with an apparent nose injury, but a week of recuperation should ensure no missed time.
BYU Cougars
The 10th-ranked BYU Cougars head to their college football bye in Week 10 with a perfect 8-0 overall record and an unblemished Big 12 resume. With his swashbuckling style of play, true freshman Bear Bachmeier could benefit from the rest before Kalani Sitake’s team faces a gauntlet featuring the 13th-ranked Texas Tech Raiders, 17th-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats, and a strong TCU Horned Frogs offense.
