‘Absolutely Hate Players Like This’ — CFB World Left Unimpressed As Dylan Raiola Shades Nebraska

The college football world reacts as Oregon’s transfer quarterback Dylan Raiola shades his former school, the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Dylan Raiola started for Matt Rhule’s Nebraska Cornhuskers for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, both of which ended with disappointing 7-6 overall records.

Raiola garnered a lot of attention during his time at Nebraska, especially for his resemblance to Patrick Mahomes.

On January 12, Raiola announced his decision to leave the Cornhuskers to join Dan Lanning’s Oregon for the 2026 season; however, he will be acting as the backup behind Dante Moore.

CFB World Trolls Dylan Raiola for Shading Nebraska

On Tuesday, Raiola talked about his transition from Nebraska to Oregon.

“There’s not cornfields here. There’s mountains and trees, and I love the nature. As far as football, it’s different, you know, with coaches and players, we have a lot more talent than we did at Nebraska,” Raiola said. “I don’t say that to knock on them, but I think everybody will know that.”

This comment quickly sparked strong reactions from a number of college football analysts.

“Absolutely hate players like this. You don’t have to put down your old school to build up your new one. You had plenty of talent and opportunity at Nebraska and couldn’t do anything with it,” CBS Sports HQ analyst Michael O’Brian said.

“And with that, Dylan Raiola’s media availability has concluded for 2026,” The Film Guy Network’s Brooks Austin wrote.

“I’ll never understand why players put stuff like this out there. Don’t burn bridges.Yea, we ALL know Oregon has more talent than Neb (and most schools) – you don’t need to put it on social. NEB bent over backwards for Raiola, paid him millions of dollars and got 31 TDs and 17 INTs out of it. just say, ‘NEB was great, but I’m moving forward with Oregon and I’m stoked to be here’?” Locked on Badgers host Ryan Harings added.

“And yet Dylan Raiola travels back to Nebraska every single weekend and post himself working out at our local high schools. Make it make sense,” Nebraska sports writer Wilson Dittman pointed out.

“Athletes: YOU. ARE. ALLOWED. TO. NOT. SAY. THESE. TYPES. OF. THINGS,” Super Bowl champion and TCU football alum Marshall Newhouse added.

“Never seen a more ‘You’re not him’ type of player than Raiola tbh,” Fantasy Points writer Trilly added.

In his interview, Raiola also said that he is grateful for the time he spent with Nebraska.

“But I’m very grateful for my time there,” he added. “Learned a lot from my coaches, teammates, still have those relationships, but I think that I’m really excited for what Oregon’s going to bring.”
