His versatility across the defensive front has made him a dominant force on the high school circuit, with film that reflects his ability to disrupt offenses from multiple alignments.

Texas A&M Adds Defensive Force in 5-Star Bryce Perry-Wright
Texas A&M secured one of the top defensive talents in the 2026 cycle as five-star edge rusher Bryce Perry-Wright committed to the Aggies. The Buford (Georgia) standout announced his decision Saturday, selecting A&M over Texas, Clemson, and Miami.
Perry-Wright is listed as the No. 5 player in Georgia. According to 247Sports, he is the No. 2 defensive lineman nationally and No. 32 overall.
“D-Line University,” Perry-Wright said when asked what separated the Aggies from the competition.
He later added in his commitment video,
“I want to thank my family, friends, coaches, brothers and everyone who’s been around supporting me. With that being said, I’ll be taking my talents to [Texas A&M].”

Despite not possessing eye-popping measurables at 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds, Perry-Wright has been praised as one of the more complete defensive prospects in the class. His strength lies in elite traits, strong technique and a relentless approach on the field.
During his junior campaign in 2024, he tallied 57 total tackles, including 13 for loss, and nine sacks, helping lead Buford to the state semifinal round. That season earned him a spot in the Navy All-American Bowl.
Texas A&M’s recruiting momentum surged after Wright’s official visit to College Station the weekend of June 20. While different schools appeared to lead at various points, the visit to A&M proved pivotal.
Head coach Mike Elko, alongside defensive line coaches Sean Spencer and Tony Jerod-Eddie, built a strong connection with the elite pass rusher through a clear development plan and consistent trust.
“They show me a lot of love. Show me what it means to become an Aggie,” Perry-Wright told Rivals. “The environment was awesome. They just wanna win and have fun doing it. Just to get the knowledge from Coach Tony and Spencer was great.”

Perry-Wright is expected to play defensive end at the next level, similar to how transfer Nic Scourton was deployed early in the 2024 season. While not a physical outlier, his play style has drawn comparisons to Grady Jarrett of the Chicago Bears for his explosiveness and disruptive impact.
