‘Holds Them Down’ — Analyst Rips Drew Allar in Fiery Rant Over Failing to Elevate Penn State WRs

College football analyst rips Penn State QB Drew Allar in heated rant, claiming Baylor’s Sawyer Robertson is the far superior quarterback.

Penn State’s Drew Allar is one of the most polarizing players in college football. Some analysts view him as one of the best quarterbacks in the country and project him to be a day-one selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, while others believe he’s overrated.

There’s been constant debate this offseason whether or not Drew Allar belongs in the same conversation as some of the other top quarterbacks in the country, and now one Baylor analyst is taking hating on Allar to a new level, shredding the quarterback in a recent rant.

Baylor Analyst Believes Sawyer Robertson is far Superior to Drew Allar

Cam Stuart, host of the “Locked On Baylor” podcast, recently released a video in which he tears apart Penn State quarterback Drew Allar and compares him to Baylor’s Sawyer Robertson, whom he believes is far better.

“In the last game against Notre Dame, [Allar] did not complete a single pass to a wide receiver on his team. Sawyer Robertson unleashes wide receivers. Helps make walk-ons into all-conference players. Drew Allar holds them down. He makes them worse,” Stuart said.

Now, it’s understandable for a Baylor fan to believe that his quarterback is better than Allar, but to act like Allar isn’t great in his own right is simply lazy analysis.

Stuart’s claim that Penn State receivers don’t get the football a lot is not wrong. The leading wide receiver on the Nittany Lions only had 46 catches last season. However, that’s not on Allar; it’s how the Penn State offense worked in 2024.

Allar didn’t avoid receivers; his best receiving weapon last season was a tight end. In fact, Tyler Warren was the focal point of the Nittany Lions’ passing offense last season, catching 104 passes for 1,233 yards.

I think Tyler Warren would certainly say that Allar did not ‘hold him down’ last year, as the tight end won the Mackey award and went on to be a first-round pick.

On top of Warren’s dominance in the passing game, Allar doesn’t need to throw the football as much as Robertson might in order to win games, as Penn State has arguably the most lethal running back duo in the country.

This is not to say that Robertson isn’t also a fantastic quarterback, but despite Stuart’s rant, the numbers don’t lie: Allar is just as good, if not better than Robertson.
