EA Sports College Football 26 is set to release in just over a week, and fans just got their first official look at the gameplay.
EA revealed that major gameplay updates have been made from College Football 25 to 26, and those changes are on full display in the new video featuring Alabama superstar wide receiver Ryan Williams and EA content creator James Bordeaux.

There are a couple of things to point out about the gameplay that can be seen in this trailer. For one, EA emphasized that the vision of users’ quarterbacks matters a lot more in this game, and QBs may not be able to see certain wide receivers depending on their height or throwing lanes.
This can be seen in the gameplay between Bordeaux and Williams. When Williams drops back to throw, Alabama’s quarterback icons appear and disappear depending on where they are in relation to the quarterback’s eyes.
Fans were excited about this update, and it appears to be in the game, as EA explained.
The other significant change evident in this gameplay is that cornerbacks cannot intercept passes without their eyes on the ball. For too long in EA football games, users have been picked off by cornerbacks who do not even locate the ball in the air.
No eyes, no int.
Defenders can’t intercept the ball anymore if they don’t get their eyes around in College Football 26.

On the last deep ball that Williams throws in this video, you can see that since Bordeaux’s defensive back doesn’t have his head turned around, he can’t intercept it. This was another change that fans were very excited about.
Overall, the gameplay looks crisp, and while most of the graphics and animations will probably be similar, if not the same, as they were in College Football 25, the changes evident in this video will improve the overall experience of College Football 26.
College Football 26 will be released worldwide on July 10, 2025, with early access available on July 7, 2025, for those who purchase the Deluxe Edition or the MVP Bundle.
