CeeDee Lamb Dynasty Profile: Fantasy Outlook, Value, Projections, and Rankings

CeeDee Lamb took another step forward in 2022. What does his future look like, and what is his value in dynasty fantasy football leagues going forward?

As we inch toward the new season, the ever-changing NFL landscape has player fantasy values constantly on the move. Whether you’re used to the dynasty platform or are still learning the rules, let’s dive into the latest dynasty value of CeeDee Lamb.

CeeDee Lamb’s Dynasty Outlook and Value

Easily the most valuable member of the Dallas Cowboys is Lamb. The fourth-year wide receiver has been a bit of a throwback in terms of his trajectory. Lamb has steadily improved in each of his first three seasons, with the true breakout coming last season in Year 3.

With Amari Cooper out of the picture, Lamb fully ascended to the WR1 role. He saw a career-high 28.7% target share in 2022, catching 107 of 156 targets for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns. He averaged 13.6 ppg as a rookie, 14.6 ppg as a sophomore, and was a mid-WR1 at 17.7 ppg this past season. Mind you, he did this despite catching passes from Cooper Rush for five games.

At just 24 years old entering the 2023 season, Lamb is one of the most valuable assets in all of dynasty. You’ll be hard-pressed to find any set of WR rankings with Lamb outside the top five.

The holy grail of dynasty is rostering young players that check all three boxes: situation, opportunity, and talent. Lamb is a high-end talent in an elite volume role on an elite offense tethered to a top-10 quarterback.

We can confidently pencil in Lamb for at least another seven years of WR1 production. Sixteen points per game is roughly the threshold for WR1 production, and I would be surprised if Lamb dipped below that number at any point before 2030.

If you already roster Lamb, you’re only trading him for a king’s ransom. If you do not roster Lamb, he’s someone you should absolutely look to acquire. Just understand he will be extremely difficult to pry away from his manager.

CeeDee Lamb’s Fantasy Ranking

The Cowboys’ offensive situation is set up very well for Lamb. Behind him, they have a solid WR2 in Michael Gallup, who is not a threat to Lamb at all. Beyond that, there’s the 33-year-old T.Y. Hilton, who was brought on for the playoff run and is no guarantee to be back, and 27-year-old former UDFA Noah Brown, who is best fitted for a rotational WR3/4 role.

This team will probably draft a wide receiver this year. The question is whether they use a Day 1 or Day 2 pick to take one. Dallas could also sign one in free agency.

Regardless of what the Cowboys do at the position, Lamb’s status as the alpha is not in jeopardy. There’s not a single player out there they can realistically sign or draft (or trade for) who would hinder Lamb’s fantasy value by any meaningful amount.

Lamb was a solid WR1 in 2022. I’m anticipating him becoming an elite WR1 sometime in the next two seasons. Ever since his sophomore season, Lamb’s ranking has had progression baked in. That remains the case in our latest dynasty Superflex rankings, where we have Lamb as the WR3, No. 8 overall.

Lamb is an end-game type player. He’s who you hope you end up with when selecting him in a rookie draft or trading for him. He’s a worthwhile first-round selection in dynasty startup drafts.
