Good thing Jacoby Brissett got his money when he did. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Beck, who was selected 65th overall in the third round, just put some pressure on the 33-year-old veteran QB.
Beck, in his Cardinals preseason debut in the Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers, led back-to-back touchdown drives. It was just what an NFL-starved community had been craving.
Social Media Impressed by Carson Beck’s Debut
While Beck had an incompletion on his first drive, seeing him march the Cardinals on a 13-play, 96-yard touchdown drive on his second series showed poise.
In live action, NBC Sports commentator Cris Collinsworth called Beck’s drive “Really impressive.” He even said that this weekend’s Hall of Fame inductee, “Drew Brees would have been proud of that one.”
While Collinsworth was reacting on TV, several other commenters chimed in with their own two cents online.

One account even went so far as to call Beck the Cardinals’ new QB1 already, usurping Brissett. The account wrote, “Carson Beck is the Cardinals QB1.”
It might be a bit too soon to promote him to the starter, but clearly, several believe it won’t be long until the 24-year-old climbs the depth chart. In addition to Brissett, the Cardinals also have Gardner Minshew II and Kedon Slovis competing for roles.
