Despite entering Year 3 as Carolina’s starting quarterback, Bryce Young is far from the youngest player on the roster. The Panthers’ 2025 squad is brimming with youth, especially after a draft class loaded with early contributors. From offensive weapons to secondary depth, this new wave of young talent could help shape the next era of Panthers football. Here’s a look at the 10 youngest players currently on the team.

Top 10 Youngest Active Players on Carolina Panthers’ Roster
1) Jonathon Brooks, RB | Age 21
At just 21 years old, Jonathon Brooks is the youngest player on the roster. The Panthers used a second-round pick on the Texas standout in the 2024 NFL Draft. He has had a disappointing start to his NFL career, playing in only three games in his rookie season before re-tearing his ACL in non-contact action. He registered only nine carries for 22 yards on the ground and three receptions for 23 yards as a receiver. He initially tore his ACL in November 2023 at Texas. On May 8, the Panthers placed him on the physically unable to perform list, ending his 2025 season before it even began.
2) Mitchell Evans, TE | Age 22
Mitchell Evans isn’t the flashiest tight end, but the former Notre Dame captain is known for his reliable hands and inline blocking. At 6-foot-5, he offers a big target for Bryce Young and could carve out a role as a short-yardage and red-zone option.
3) Jimmy Horn Jr., WR | Age 22
Jimmy Horn turned heads at Colorado with his elite quickness and return skills. The Panthers love his burst and agility in space, and he’s already in the mix for kick and punt return duties. He’s a threat to score every time he touches the ball.
4) Cam Jackson, DT | Age 22
An undrafted rookie out of Florida, Cam Jackson showed strong hands and surprising agility for his 6-foot-6 size during rookie minicamp. He’s considered a developmental player who could crack the rotation with continued growth.
5) Tetairoa McMillan, WR | Age 22
McMillan was one of the most polished receivers in the 2025 draft. The Arizona product is a smooth route runner with elite ball skills and a huge catch radius. He’s a prime candidate to become a go-to weapon for Young early on.
6) Jonah Savaiinaea, OL | Age 22
Jonah Savaiinaea brings a nasty streak to the offensive line and has experience at both tackle and guard. Drafted out of Arizona, he’s expected to compete for a spot on the interior O-line immediately.
7) Lathan Ransom, S | Age 22
A hard-hitting safety out of Ohio State, Lathan Ransom plays with excellent instincts and a physical edge. He’ll likely begin on special teams but could push for defensive snaps in sub-packages.
8) Ja’Tavion Sanders, TE | Age 22
Ja’Tavion Sanders, an athletic mismatch for linebackers and safeties, was one of the top tight ends in the 2025 draft class. His pass-catching ability makes him an exciting addition to a Carolina offense in need of playmakers.
9) Chau Smith-Wade, CB | Age 22
Chau Smith-Wade isn’t the biggest corner, but his competitiveness and footwork made him a late-round sleeper. He’s versatile enough to play inside and out and could see early reps depending on camp performance.
10) Bryce Young, QB | Age 23
Rounding out the list is Young, still just 23 years old as he enters his third NFL season. The former No. 1 overall pick will look to take the next step under new guidance, now surrounded by one of the youngest offensive cores in the league.
