The Arizona Cardinals decided that they needed a new quarterback and went out in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft on Friday night and drafted Miami’s Carson Beck.
With news that Beck is heading to the Valley of the Sun, the NFL world on social media had plenty of reactions.

Grant Cohn, publisher of 49ers on SI, which covers the San Francisco 49ers, wasn’t a fan of what the Cardinals did here on Friday night.

The Cardinals received a D- grade for picking Beck from the PFSN NFL Draft HQ data. Beck had a 72.4 prospect score on the PFSN NFL Draft HQ board as well.
“Carson Beck was a QB1 candidate entering the 2025 NFL Draft cycle,” according to PFSN draft analysis. “His 2024 campaign was reasonably productive, and Georgia still went 11-2 under his watch, but a notable regression in accuracy and decision-making led Beck to return to school and transfer to Miami for his final season.

“In his final season, Beck helped lead Miami to a National Championship appearance, but his stock remains tempered,” the PFSN draft analysis continued. “He had surgery to repair the UCL in his right arm after the 2025 season, and his arm simply hasn’t been the same since.
“Arm strength was once a positive of Beck’s profile, but it is now a weakness, and it places a greater limitation on his outlook.”
