‘Waste of a First Pick’ — NFL Fans Slam Cam Ward After Titans QB’s Mistake in Week 9 Goes Viral

The Tennessee Titans are officially nine weeks into the Cam Ward experience, and to say that it’s been unimpressive would be a massive understatement.

The rookie out of Miami has shown some flashes, but his decision-making, footwork, and accuracy — or lack thereof — have been talking points way too many times already. That was the case again after one of his weekly blunders went viral on X.

NFL Fans Slam Cam Ward After First-Half Struggles

Facing 3rd-and-16, the No. 1 pick missed a wide-open Van Jefferson down the middle of the field. That play would’ve gone for an easy first down and more, and Ward just missed him.

That’s why some fans just couldn’t take it anymore, and they took to X to put him on blast:

“When we gonna stop making excuses?” one fan wondered.

“How was cam ward a number one pick?” another one asked.

“What is he doing,” another one added.

“He’s not good,” a fan continued.

“Cam Ward’s small hands is a very big problem,” another one opined.

“You can be frustrated with your self and self critical all you want. But at some point you have to deliver and execute. Cam Ward needs to figure that sh*t out,” another one said.

“Cam ward was a waste of a first pick,” another fan sentenced.

“He was not the answer , and has small hands,” another fan said.

“Was Cam Ward really NFL ready man? Like seriously,” another one continued.

The Titans put up 17 first-half points against the Chargers’ stout defense, but their touchdowns came from a punt return and a pick-six, so Ward didn’t do much to help their case.

He finished the first half with just four completions on 11 attempts for 53 yards, adding two carries for six yards and taking two sacks for a loss of 16 yards.

Ward has been way too critical of his team’s play, and he also hasn’t hesitated to admit that he hasn’t played up to the standards.

There will always be some growing pains with first-year signal callers. Ward will have to go through a learning curve, and it’s never wise or fair to give up on rookie quarterbacks, much less those who have already lost their head coach and have no weapons.

Even so, Ward has to do much better, and it seems like he wasn’t as NFL-ready as the Titans may have thought.
