The Olympic gold-winning sprinter Noah Lyles’s questionable performance in the $100,000 race against IShowSpeed provided Tyreek Hill with an opportunity to revamp his social media feud with the US speedster. The Miami Dolphins star took the opportunity to claim superiority over Lyles in a potential clash on the track.
The race between Hill and Lyles approached notoriously close to its materialization before the latter decided to back out. Hill used this chance to fire another shot at his 27-year-old adversary. However, the former NFL quarterback, Cam Newton, recently opined that the contest would have ended shamefully for the Dolphins’ wide receiver, irrespective of his confidence about defeating Lyles.

Cam Newton Used Statistics To Debunk Tyreek Hill’s Claim of Being Faster Than Noah Nyles
Hill’s exceptional speed has helped him earn several accolades, including winning the Super Bowl once with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020. His stellar performances in his initial years in the NFL earned him a spot on the prestigious NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.
Hill was deeply offended by Lyles’ controversial comments, which questioned the “world champion” status of NFL and NBA stars since their leagues were limited to the US. The 31-year-old sparked discussions of an on-track showdown with the Olympic gold medalist while replying to Lyles’ remarks in an August 2024 episode of the “Up & Adams Show.”
Hill expressed confidence about defeating Lyles in a contest, which got him into a full-fledged feud with the US speedster. Both parties have fired shots at each other several times since then.
Eventually, the athletes decided to settle their differences with a race in New York’s Times Square, but Lyles recently announced his withdrawal from the contest for personal reasons.
Hill used this chance to mock the Olympic gold medalist once again with an X update. However, in a recent episode of the “4th&1” show, Newton opined that the cancellation of the race saved Hill from embarrassment.
The 31-year-old recently clocked his personal best by completing 100 m in 10.15 seconds, but the former quarterback predicted a defeat against Lyles by highlighting that the 27-year-old holds the record of clocking “9.79” for 100 m.
“I mean the math has to match. You [Hill] got a 10.1[7], which was impressive. I can’t do it. But if you ask me, ‘Can he beat Noah?’ No! Especially when the numbers say that Noah ran [100 m in] 9.7[9].”
Newton may have no doubts about the victor of this contest, but the only way to settle this long-running dispute between these two noted American athletes is now out the window. Hence, nothing can be said about how long this Hill-Lyles feud will continue before they agree to settle their differences.
