Cam͏er͏on ͏Jordan, the ͏veteran defensive end͏ and face ͏of the ͏New Orleans ͏Saints͏ ͏franchise,͏ has͏͏ made waves ͏͏͏with ͏his bold prediction for ͏the͏ team’s ͏2025 season.
Returning for his 15th͏ NFL season, after agreeing ͏to a͏ restructured contract, Jordan͏ is ͏optimistic about the ͏Saints’ ability to͏ ͏bounce back ͏from their disappointing 5-12 record in ͏20͏24. Despite significant challenges — including injuries͏, an͏ aging roster, and financial constraints — Jordan ͏believes the team is poised for ͏a resurgence.
The Saints hired Kellen ͏Moor͏e — a Super Bowl champion as offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024 — to be their next head coach. His innovative schemes are expected to breathe new life into the offense.

Cam Jordan Believes Healthy Saints Squad Can Be Top Two Team in 2025
New Orleans Saints defensive cornerstone Cameron Jordan is heading into his 15th NFL season with renewed optimism and high expectations. In an interview with NFL Network, the eight-time Pro Bowler expressed belief in the team’s potential when at full strength.
“I think we have a team where when healthy, top tier,” Jordan said on April 9.

Why such high hopes for a team that finished 5-12 in 2024? He pointed to the Saints’ strong start last season — they started 2-0 before dropping seven straight games — which included standout performances from wide ͏receivers Ras͏hid Shahe͏ed and͏ Chris Ola͏ve, ͏along with ͏a solid offensive line.
However, Jordan acknowledged how injuries quickly ͏disrupted the͏ ͏team’s ͏early cohesion and ͏momentum. The Saints cycled through various quarterbacks due to health issues, inserting Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener, and Derek Carr at various points.
Jordan emphasized that a stable presence at the quarterback position is perhaps the most important part of winning consistently in the NFL. Carr will enter the 2025 campaign as the starter, but the Saints could look at drafting someone with the No. 9 overall pick.
“Give me a healthy Derek Carr and I can tell you where a healthy, sane state of mind will be,” Jordan said.
New Chapter Under First-Year Head Coach Kellen Moore
Along with returning stars like Olave and Shaheed, tight end Juwan Johnson is back with an extension, and versatile “Swiss Army Knife” Taysom Hill is expected to contribute again. On defense, Jordan praised young edge rushers Chase Young and Carl Granderson, and noted the impact of second-year lineman Bryan Bresee.
The Saints will also begin a new chapter under Kellen Moore. The rookie head coach is just two days younger than Jordan. Despite the leadership change, Jordan remains committed to the only franchise he’s ever known. He’s suited up in 226 games for New Orleans which ranks second on the franchise’s all-time list behind Drew Brees (228).
Jordan and the Saints agreed to a restructured contract ($6.05 million) earlier this offseason that will keep the star defensive end in New Orleans in 2025. While he saw a statistical dip (34 tackles and four sacks) in 2024, Jordan remains one of the most productive players in team history.
His 121.5 career sacks are tops in franchise history, outranking Rickey Jackson (115). Jordan is a three-time All-Pro selection and eight-time Pro Bowler while earning a spot on the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade Team.
Jordan, a three-time nominee for the team’s Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, shows no signs of slowing down. He’s not only chasing records but also determined to help lead New Orleans back to playoff relevance. With a healthy roster and veteran leadership, Jordan believes the Saints can compete with the league’s best.
