The Tennessee Titans had plenty of cap space to operate and improve their roster this offseason. There is a new regime in the Titans led by head coach Robert Saleh, who comes over after doing a great job as the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator.
Saleh brought a strong coaching staff with him, yet the front office knew they needed to add impact players to compete in 2026.
Brian Daboll’s Arrival Could Be Key to Cam Ward’s Development in Tennessee
So far in free agency, the Titans have done just that. The Titans must build around second-year quarterback Cam Ward. He is still on a rookie contract, and that gives the team plenty of cap flexibility. Some of their signings so far this offseason show they mean business in 2026.
After a dreadful 2025 season, the Titans are doing what they can to make things better for Ward in 2026. Every young quarterback needs a quality supporting cast to be successful, and that was not the case last season in the Titans.
One of the big changes for Ward will be the new offensive coordinator, Brian Daboll. He is regarded as one of the better offensive minds in football and was in Buffalo during Josh Allen’s development.
To help Ward along, there will be two veteran receivers: Calvin Ridley and Wan’Dale Robinson. After a disappointing 2025 season, many thought Ridley would be on his way out.
Yet a contract restructure brings him back to the Titans for another year. According to Tom Pelissero, Ridley was due a $2 million roster bonus if on the roster by 4 pm Saturday. So the team decided to restructure his contract and keep him in the Titans another year.
Calvin Ridley had a $2 million bonus due if he was on the roster at 4 p.m. today. That created a deadline for figuring out a solution, and now — after a very active week in free agency — the Titans keep Ridley to pair with Wan’Dale Robinson. https://t.co/wSr1E7I4M3

Bringing back Ridley and adding Robinson gives Ward two quality targets next season. Also, it adds some explosiveness to an offense that was one of the worst in football in 2025.
The addition of Robinson has flown under the radar, but it may be one of the best signings of the offseason.
While he may not be a big name, he was very productive for the Giants last season. Robinson caught 92 passes for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns across 16 games. That is why he was given a four-year, $70 million contract via Spotrac.
Robinson should serve as a security blanket for Ward, given his ability to play the slot and consistently get open.
Also, Daboll and Robinson worked together on the Giants last season, so they are familiar with each other. The 2026 season will be a massive one for Ward as he must show improved play so the Titans can feel good about him taking over as their franchise quarterback.
