The New York Giants are in free fall. They’ve started the season 0-3, which ruins any chances they may have had at reaching the playoffs. Quarterback Russell Wilson sandwiched an offensive explosion in Dallas in Week 2 between Week 1 and Week 3 performances that left fans and analysts scratching their heads.
There were horrible throwaways, missed scoring opportunities, and generally tentative play on Wilson’s part. The Giants could not capitalize in the red zone and settled for field goals. In a game where their defense kept them in it, the offense failed to live up to its side of the bargain.
What’s Next For Brian Daboll and the New York Giants?
If it were up to the fans, Daboll would be sent packing tonight. The one-time NFL Coach of the Year has fallen from grace in Gotham, and the man who was once praised as a potential savior is being pilloried for making a once-proud franchise look inept and ineffective.

Part of the problem lies with his failure to develop quarterback Daniel Jones, who is thriving with the Indianapolis Colts early in the season. But for fans, the bigger sins seem to be wasting a talented defensive front and sticking with Wilson instead of seeing what the Giants have in rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.
The fans are coming in hot and loud and are metaphorically thirsty for blood.
One fan had a four-point plan in mind, posting, “Fire Daboll. Drop Russell Wilson. Fire the whole New York Giants coaching staff while you’re at it. Draft an offensive line that can actually block. Same story every year, and it’s beyond exhausting.”

Referencing the Giants’ failure in the red zone towards the end of the game, one fan posted, “I don’t even know what to say. That was one of the most embarrassing 4 play sequences I’ve ever seen. Everyone has to go. Fire Daboll. Fire Schoen. Put bum ass Russ on the bench.”

One fan was so mad he posted, “Daboll should be fired immediately. Skatteboo is running it down their throat but they choose to let Russ try and throw for a field goal.”

The hits kept coming as another posted, “I firmly feel comfortable saying this Daboll needs to be fired it’s ridiculous now playing calling is some of the worst I’ve seen completely inexcusable they got some young guys who can play but man they are poorly coached on both sides of the football fans have had enough #NYG.”

And finally, one fan had a suggestion for ownership: “Fire Daboll and hire Gruden asap.”

If Daboll survives the week, it will be harder to justify starting Wilson instead of Dart.
Speculation has been rampant that Daboll will make a quarterback switch to save his job and have a chance at turning Dart into the franchise quarterback the Giants haven’t had since Eli Manning retired.
Either way, the Giants must find a spark next week when they host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 28.
