Heading into the fourth quarter of the Week 7 matchup against the Denver Broncos, the New York Giants were up 19-0 and seemingly had a win locked up. But an unrelenting comeback from the Broncos proved to be too much as they fought back, scoring 33 points in the fourth quarter to win the game 33-32.
The only reason the Broncos were able to finish the game in regulation was that Giants kicker Jude McAtamney missed his second extra point of the game. After the one-point loss, Giants fans let the kicker hear it on social media.
NFL Fans Roast Jude McAtamney After Giants’ Loss
The Broncos came back from an improbable 19-0 deficit with an offensive barrage in the fourth quarter. They didn’t score 33 unanswered, as New York was able to punch it into the end zone twice.
On the second touchdown, McAtamney missed a crucial extra point, giving the Giants a two-point cushion with 37 seconds left. Broncos QB Bo Nix led the offense 56 yards down the field to the Giants’ 21-yard line, where Will Lutz converted a 39-yard field goal to win the game for Denver.

Fans were livid at the result and came for McAtamney on social media despite the Giants’ defense letting up 33 points in the fourth quarter. This fan lit up the Giants kicker, using his username in a post, “@mcatamney_jude, this dude is beyond bad. STG, if you cost this game, you’re getting exiled from the NFL.”

Another fan utilized a line from one of New York’s greatest rappers, Jay-Z, interpolating a line from his popular song “99 Problems,” saying, “McAtamney has 99 problems and kicking is one of them.”

Another fan posted their despair on X after the missed extra point cost the Giants the game, saying, “McAtamney’s football career better be over.”

Some fans were not nearly as civil, and their frustrations were at an all-time high after the loss. Some even pointed out that the Giants had another kicker, Younghoe Koo, on the practice squad, as this fan begged New York to make the switch, venting, “McAtamney, you f****** idiot. Make Younghoe Koo active.”
No matter the kicker, the game is over as the NFL world watched one of the most shocking collapses in NFL history.
