The Buffalo Bills will begin the hopeful road to a championship in their home away from home when camp begins. Since the beginning of the NFL, franchises have drawn inspiration from training camp. Granted, the long summer grind is the beginning of the process. Many of the players who pad up and compete will never see the active roster for the Bills. However, the talented ones who stick attempt to make history.
In the 60 years since the Bills’ last championship in the American Football League, thousands of players have entered the camp, hoping to contribute to the franchise raising another trophy, standing alone as champion. The team endured a two-decade dominant era of the New England Patriots. As that subsided, the team now stands as an AFC frontrunner and potential Super Bowl threat.
Buffalo Bills’ Annual Voyage to Rochester Will Kick Off 2025 Training Camp
With pressure firmly resting on their shoulders, the Bills will head to St. John Fisher University in Rochester, NY, to kick off their 24th season at the NCAA Division-III school. Roughly 75 minutes from Buffalo, Rochester provides the organization with three important benefits to conducting camp in the city.
First, SJFU sits far enough away that the team can truly get away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger city. Gaining peace of mind for players focusing strictly on football cannot go understated in any shape, form, or fashion. Next, conducting camp in the heart of your fanbase will draw fans in droves, allowing those who cannot attend games or tailgates an up-close and personal look at their team.
The Bills will conduct practice in and around Growney Stadium. Featuring an OmniGrass surface, the team practices in a relatively secluded facility that abuts trees and forests. The serenity and calm allow for teams to avoid distractions. In contrast, many teams will play in their regular-season home, which detracts from the difference and specialness that an away camp can offer.
It's official, Bills Mafia of Rochester — the Bills are returning to St. John Fisher University.

As of right now, the team has not released specific details. However, the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle writer Sal Maiorana fills in the blanks, based on previous history:
“The exact arrival, practice dates, and ticket information have not been announced—that will be coming at a later date—but you can expect the Bills to arrive in Pittsford in the last week in July and most likely stay at Fisher for about two weeks based on the last few years.
“Almost all of the practices are open to the public, though there are usually a couple that are closed because they are of the walk-through variety. And there will be one practice where the Bills head back to Highmark Stadium for their annual Return of the Blue and Red practice/scrimmage.”
At such a pivotal point in team history, the Bills continue one tradition while attempting to build another: winning a Super Bowl.
