Bryce Young Injury Update: Latest on the Panthers QB After Exiting Week 11 vs. Falcons

Bryce Young suffered an injury in Week 11 against the Atlanta Falcons. Here's the latest update on the Carolina Panthers quarterback.

The Carolina Panthers offense has started their Week 11 matchup well with an opening drive touchdown from Bryce Young to Tetairoa McMillan. The defense didn’t do them any favors, but after a brutal loss to the New Orleans Saints last week, the offense looks to be back in form. Unfortunately, Young was injured on a sack and had to leave the game.

What Happened to Bryce Young?

Young was sacked in the first quarter and looked to be in serious pain. He headed to the sideline to try to shake off the injury, but couldn’t.

Young then went to the locker room as Andy Dalton replaced him at quarterback.

This is a tough loss for Carolina as Young was cooking to begin Week 11. There’s something about playing the Falcons for Young. He completed eight of his first nine passes for 82 yards and a touchdown. After a really tough performance against New Orleans in Week 10, it was important for the Panthers to start hot, and that’s exactly what Young did.

Young had missed time earlier in the season after he injured his ankle on a sack against the Jets. Dalton closed that game out to secure the victory and started the next one, which didn’t end well.

Young was listed as questionable to return to today’s game with an ankle injury, but was able to return before the second quarter.

Young already dealt with ankle problems, and the new injury was not a great sign for Carolina. Losing their franchise QB is never good, but Young being injured again shortly after returning from a similar injury is not ideal.

Unfortunately, Young suffered another injury late in the fourth quarter. He appeared to be in significant pain, and Panthers fans can only hope their quarterback doesn’t face an extended stint on the sidelines.

At the time of writing, Young threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns while the Panthers trail 24-19 with two minutes left in the game.

Bryce Young hasn’t mattered much for fantasy managers this season, so any change gives key members of this offense increased upside.

How much upside, however, remains to be seen. Tetairoa McMillan was a low-end fantasy starter prior to this injury, and he’d move up a few spots, though he’d remain in the same WR2 tier.

Outside of that, there isn’t much interest. The offense as a whole could be more efficient, and that would benefit Rico Dowdle, but the number of moving pieces is limited, and the value won’t swing in a big way for anyone involved.
