Every year, the identity of the performer for the halftime show during the Super Bowl is a great mystery for the NFL fan base, with one of the biggest audiences watching the show. It is understandably a tremendous honour and something that the league looks forward to every year. This season was no exception, as after Kendrick Lamar’s exploits in New Orleans, the league would have hoped to follow it up even better in San Francisco.
During a Week 4 clash between the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys, it was finally made official that the Latin American superstar Bad Bunny would be the performer during the Halftime Show at Super Bowl 60. As reactions poured in from awe, surprise, and even some resentment, the rest of the music world reacted to the announcement as well, with Bruno Mars making a simple declaration.
What Did Bruno Mars Say to Bad Bunny About Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show?
Before the announcement, Bunny had been in the news for his comments about performing in the U.S. Refusing to include the country in his upcoming concert tour, his decision to perform at the Super Bowl was a rather shocking development.
A three-time Grammy Award Winner, Bunny has more than earned his stripes to perform at the prestigious stage. Earning the title “King of Latin Trap,” he’s been at the forefront of Spanish-language rap, gaining mainstream popularity.
One of the most-streamed artists in the world, his commercial success has coincided with critical acclaim, earning him 11 Latin Grammy Awards. Even as the reactions to his decision remained mixed, he had the unwavering support of his fellow superstar.
Sharing a message on X, Mars directly referenced Bunny’s proclamation. He directly quoted, “‘What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,’ Bad Bunny said in a statement. ‘It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.’

That final line directly translates to “Go tell your grandma, we’re going to be the SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW,” as the emotion was obvious from Bunny. His exclamation was met with similar energy from Mars, who added, “Go get em Bad Bunny!”
A veteran of the industry, Mars is one of the greatest musical artists of all time, with his success nearly unparalleled. 16 Grammy Awards, the best-performing song of the 2010s, and eight diamond-certified songs just give a glimpse into his incredible career.
With his approval adding to the charm of the announcement, the stage is getting set for an epic night at Levi’s Stadium when Super Bowl 60 comes to the Bay Area.
