Shedeur Sanders is still young in his NFL career, but inside the Cleveland Browns locker room, teammates are already speaking about the polarizing rookie with conviction. One of his supporters is rookie running back Quinshon Judkins.
Quinshon Judkins Praises Shedeur Sanders’ Talent and Leadership
During an appearance at “The Arena’s Gridiron” for Underdog, Judkins was asked what it’s like having Sanders as the Browns’ QB1.
“Man, it’s fun,” Judkins said. “Shedeur is, you know, he’s a great talent also. He’s got a good personality. He’s fun to be around. Me and him are very attentive to detail and practice. But also, you know, we got personalities. We spend a lot of time outside of the building, so me and we have a good time.”

When asked whether Sanders carries himself as a leader, Judkins pointed to the expectations that come with the position.
“Yeah, I think, you know, to be a quarterback and one of any team, you have to have that locker room and have a voice. So I think a lot of the guys believe in him, you know, and just having that relationship with each other, I think it means a lot too.”
Judkins’ perspective is important given his hopeful future in the Browns’ offense. He entered the league with a history of high-volume production. In two seasons at Ole Miss, he delivered back-to-back 1,000-yard campaigns with 31 rushing touchdowns. After transferring to Ohio State, he added another 1,000-yard season and 14 touchdowns on a national championship team.

As a rookie with the Browns, Judkins led the team in rushing with 827 yards on 230 carries and seven touchdowns before a late-season injury ended his year. He is positioned to be a central piece of a physical run-game identity under new head coach Todd Monken and assistants Travis Switzer and George Warhop. The approach emphasizes downhill concepts and zone schemes designed to control tempo and sustain drives.
Within that framework, quarterback stability becomes essential. Sanders has operated as QB1 during early offseason work and shares the room with Deshaun Watson and Dillon Gabriel.

As the Browns continue retooling their offense, Sanders has early backing from one of the team’s primary offensive pieces. However, this is a job that will be earned in training camp, as they are expected to bring in veteran competition.
