Browns DPOY Myles Garrett Sends Bold 5-Word Message When Asked About Next Goal

After winning NFL Defensive Player of the Year last season, Myles Garrett has his eyes set on his next goal in the 2026 season.

The Cleveland Browns didn’t accomplish much as a team in the 2025 season, but star defensive end Myles Garrett had yet another incredible season in the NFL.

Garrett won the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award for the second time in his career. The Browns won just five games last season, but Garrett was a problem for opposing offenses.

Myles Garrett Makes His Next Goal Clear After Winning DPOY

Garrett will be entering his 10th season in the NFL at age 30, and he has a huge goal in front of him.

“What’s next for me? Super Bowl,” Garrett said. “Super Bowl MVP.”

Over his nine years in the NFL, the Browns’ star pass rusher has made seven Pro Bowls, been named to five All-Pro teams, and been named Defensive Player of the Year twice.

The Browns drafted Garrett first overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he’s lived up to every inch of hype.

Cleveland has been to the playoffs just twice since Garrett was drafted, but that hasn’t been for his lack of contributions.

The All-Pro defensive end has eight straight seasons of at least 10 sacks, and set the single-season record with 23 sacks last year.

He has led the league in tackles for loss each of the last two seasons, and he has multiple forced fumbles for four straight years.

Throughout his nine-year NFL career, Garrett has accumulated 412 tackles, 149 TFL, and 125.5 sacks. He also has 239 quarterback hits, 18 passes defended, 23 forced fumble,s and six fumbles recovered.

He’s the model for what you want to anchor your defense and an eventual Hall of Famer. However, he hasn’t been able to taste the team success he wants so far in his career.

The Browns fired former head coach Kevin Stefanski and hired Todd Monken as their new head coach for the 2026 season.

Cleveland will have a new defensive coordinator in Mike Rutenberg after Jim Schwartz’s departure, who will get the opportunity to scheme up different looks for Garrett to attack opposing quarterbacks.

After consecutive seasons and losing seasons in four of the last five years, the Browns have a lot of work to do if Garrett wants the chance at winning a Super Bowl and the Super Bowl MVP award.

The Browns haven’t been to the playoffs since the 2023 season and haven’t won a playoff game since 2020. Cleveland has finished last in the AFC North division in three of the last four years.

However, with a new regime and young potential at quarterback, the Browns have their chance with Garrett on the defensive side of the ball to make their run in a division that seems very up in the air.
