‘Todd Monken Is the Anti-Stefanski’ — NFL World Reacts As Browns Draft Denzel Boston To Support Shedeur Sanders

After the Browns selected WR Denzel Boston in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the reactions were quite positive in the NFL world.

The Cleveland Browns obviously wanted to add some more offensive weapons and went out and drafted Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston on Friday in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Boston becomes yet another downfield option for Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders and head coach Todd Monken. As the pick was announced, NFL observers offered lots of reactions.

Browns’ Selection of Denzel Boston Brings Positive Reactions

Anthony Wheeler of Call of Duty League also noted what this means for Sanders. Wheeler posted on X, “Well, Shedeur will have an absurd amount of weapons lmao”.

An influencer added in a post on X, “Browns building around Shedeur, I respect it”.

NFL Insider and writer John Frascella not only mentioned Boston but also Cleveland’s first-round pick, wide receiver KC Concepcion. Frascella posted on X, “Todd Monken is here to SUPPORT Shedeur Sanders … Gets him KC Concepcion AND Denzel Boston .. Monken is the anti-Stefanski”.

ESPN’s Sam Block rattled off some names connected with the Browns right now, taking note of how the Browns’ offense is shaping up.

Block posted on X, “Shedeur Sanders. & Quinshon Judkins. & KC Concepcion. & Denzel Boston. & Jerry Jeudy. & Harold Fannin Jr., Browns building a dangerous offense. & the defense is always elite. Don’t sleep on Cleveland.”

Bryce DeGroat of Blitz Sports Media listed an age rundown of some Browns players right now. DeGroat posted on X, “Browns Offensive Ages … Shedeur Sanders – 24 … Quinshon Judkins – 22 … KC Concepcion – 21 … Denzel Boston – 22 … Isaiah Bond – 22 … Harold Fannin Jr – 21 … Average – 22 … The future is so bright in Cleveland”.

Tony Grossi, Browns and NFL analyst for The Land on Demand and 850 ESPN Cleveland, posted on X, “Denzel Boston was my mock for Browns at No. 24. Well done, AB. Todd Monken loving it.”

ESPN NFL Insider Mina Kimes, contrary to others, had a different perspective on what the Browns did in drafting Boston. “Cleveland! Wow. Doing a nice job of setting things up for 2027,” she posted on X. Kimes hinted that Cleveland could draft a new quarterback next year in what is considered a much better draft class.

The Browns earned an A grade for getting Boston, according to the PFSN NFL Draft HQ data. Boston had an 85.5 prospect score coming into the 2026 NFL Draft.

“Denzel Boston entered his junior season at Washington poised to headline the Huskies’ receiving corps after waiting his turn behind NFL-bound stars like Rome Odunze, Ja’Lynn Polk, and Jalen McMillan,” according to PFSN draft analysis on Boston.

“Standing at 6’4″ and 209 pounds, Boston broke out in 2024 with a 63-834-9 receiving line, thriving as a red-zone mismatch and showing off his expansive catch radius and reliable hands,” the analysis continued.

“While not an especially twitchy athlete, Boston moves efficiently for his size, stacks cornerbacks on the outside with smooth explosion and long-strider speed, and competes well through contact.”
