Should You Start Breece Hall or Dalvin Cook in Fantasy Football Week 4?

With the Jets struggling to pass, which New York RB between Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook are you starting this week in fantasy football?

Since the loss of Aaron Rodgers, it has been scary to start any of the New York Jets‘ offensive weapons. The running backs are slightly less nerve-racking than the wide receivers, but it still gives fantasy football managers pause when it comes to who to start. Should you start Breece Hall or Dalvin Cook in Week 4?

Breece Hall Fantasy Outlook This Week

Hall looked fantastic in Week 1, especially with his 83-yard runaway run, which is currently the season’s longest. He was RB9 that week.

The number has been trending in the wrong direction, and unfortunately, it seems not entirely in his control. The Jets are in a tailspin with Zach Wilson under center, and New York’s entire offense is paying the price.

The Jets have only had 164 total offense snaps through three games, and Hall has only played 64 of them. He’s averaged 33% of the RB targets, but with Wilson already having thrown four interceptions this year, the passes might not get near him.

PFN Consensus Rankings have Hall at RB31 this week against a better-than-expected Kansas City run defense.

Dalvin Cook Fantasy Outlook This Week

Cook came over from Minnesota to be part of the one-two punch with Hall, but the punch has been more of a gentle poke. Cook’s best finish so far this year has been RB34, and he has yet to run for more than 33 yards on the ground.

Cook is a fringe RB3 this week, coming in at RB42 in our rankings. Since the Jets will probably be fighting from behind most of the game, Cook is unlikely to get much of the rushing work.

Which of the RBs Should You Start?

If you must start one of these two RBs, Hall is the one with upside. Anytime Hall gets the ball, there is the potential that he can break a massively long run. And there is the chance for garbage-time points when the game gets out of hand. However, if you can avoid starting either of these two in a tough matchup, you should.
