While the New England Patriots prepare to face the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Sunday, Feb. 8, the Boston Bruins wanted to let the Patriots know they were in their corner.
The Bruins did so in a very, well, “patriotic” way on Sunday as players arrived at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. The Bruins were set to face the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL’s Stadium Series game at the venue.
Boston Bruins Pay Homage to New England Patriots
When the Bruins’ team bus arrived outside Raymond James Stadium, players and coaches were seen exiting in some rather eye-catching attire.
They were wearing uniforms styled to resemble Revolutionary War soldiers. As the Bruins made their way off the bus, fans cheered loudly, yelling “Let’s go, Bruins!” while the players walked toward their locker room. The Bruins’ social media page on Sunday afternoon posted a minute-long video of players alighting from the bus and captioned it, “Some Patriots have arrived.”

When the franchise was first known as the Boston Patriots, the team’s logo featured a patriot soldier bent over and holding a football, appearing ready to hike it through his legs.
Former New England players such as Jim Plunkett, Sam Cunningham, and Stanley Morgan are among those remembered for wearing uniforms featuring the classic Patriots logo. In recent years, the NFL has held throwback uniform weeks, during which the Patriots have occasionally donned those old-school designs.
When the Patriots, under head coach Mike Vrabel, hit the field next Sunday, though, they’ll be wearing the modern-look Patriots logo on their helmets and uniforms. Quarterback Drake Maye and running backs Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson will be on the field, trying to get past the Seahawks and quarterback Sam Darnold.

The NHL’s Stadium Series has proven popular since its inception, giving teams the opportunity to play outdoors. Earlier in January 2026, the NHL’s Winter Classic was held at loanDepot Park in Miami, where the New York Rangers defeated the host Florida Panthers 5-1.
In the coming week, the NFL will be packed with events ranging from concerts to media sessions as Super Bowl Week gets fully underway. It has become one of the biggest weeks on the sports calendar, culminating in a game that aims to live up to its massive reputation.
