For the second time in as many years, the Buffalo Bills don’t have a true WR1 to help their MVP quarterback. Keon Coleman has failed to take a leap in his second year in the league, and Josh Allen is still missing a No. 1 option after the Stefon Diggs trade.
Bills Fans Rip GM Brandon Beane Over WR Comments
However, GM Brandon Beane isn’t losing any sleep over that. Shortly after claiming that he couldn’t force any team to trade him a player, he added that the team’s wide receiver situation isn’t as bad as it seems.
“I think it’s been good,” Beane told the media, per Alex Brasky. “I include our TEs to a degree in that & maybe even our RBs… who is technically a WR?”
Of course, it didn’t take long before the fans took to social media to express their displeasure. Here are some of the best reactions:
“He’s failed Josh Allen,” one fan said.

“This is f*cking embarrassing,” another one added.
“So if someone stops the run, we’re screwed plain and simple! This guy will never get us over the top! And I hope I eat every word of this but I doubt it!” another fan said.
“He loves lying about how great things are, just like he lied that he would focus on replacing Diggs after he traded him and just did nothing,” another one continued.
“To have Josh and his talent for this long already and not getting him a Jefferson, Lamb, Chase, etc is a travesty!!” another fan complained.
“Buffalo will never win a SB with Beane & McDermott running the show,” another fan said.
“Dudes delusional because he cant draft a good WR,” another one added.

“I am out on Brendan Beane. This franchise will never win a Super Bowl as presently constructed and I’m tired in believing otherwise,” another one sentenced.
After eight games, Khalil Shakir leads all Bills wide receivers in receptions (38) and receiving yards (399). He’s one of just three players with more than one touchdown reception (3).
The Bills are averaging 224.0 passing yards per game, which is far from the expectations with a player like Josh Allen leading the way. Conversely, they lead the league with 161.5 rushing yards per game.
And while the team is still 6-2 and fresh off a big win over the Kansas City Chiefs, they might struggle to get the job done against teams that can efficiently shut down the run.
