For most families, a first-class flight is a splurge, a soft launch into vacation mode, complete with legroom and sparkling water in real glassware. For Dion Dawkins and his fiancée, Daiyaana Muhammad, the recent trip from Los Angeles to Fort Lauderdale was meant to be exactly that: an experience.
Instead, the Buffalo Bills’ left tackle says it ended with missing jewelry, Rolex watches included, and a public accusation that has placed JetBlue under investigation.
Bills’ Dion Dawkins Is Demanding Answers From JetBlue
Dawkins, a five-time Pro Bowler and a cornerstone of the Buffalo Bills’ offensive line, aired his frustration on X.
“@JetBlue makes no sense for security,” Dawkins wrote. “I spent 10k to give my family an experience and put them all on first class @JetBlue Mint from LA to Fort Lauderdale And employees steal my fiancés Jewlery out of her bag. Rolex Watches.”
JetBlue responded publicly beneath his post, asking him to send a direct message with reservation details so the airline could look into the matter.
“Hi, there. We’d like to take a closer look at this with you,” the official JetBlue X account responded to the issue. “Please send us a DM with the reservation information.”
In a statement, a spokesperson confirmed that the company has launched a thorough internal investigation and is coordinating with law enforcement and airport authorities.
“We take these reports very seriously and have launched a thorough investigation into the matter. In addition to conducting a comprehensive internal review, we will coordinate closely with law enforcement and other airport authorities to support their efforts and help ensure the issue is fully addressed.”
The airline has not confirmed any theft. The review is ongoing. Muhammad has not addressed the situation publicly. A model and registered nurse, she has long balanced visibility with discretion. She and Dawkins became engaged in 2024 and share three children, Dil, Dakota, and Dalilah.
In a previous interview with People, Muhammad spoke about going through life adjacent to the NFL’s bright lights. Her advice was grounded, almost gentle: know yourself, stay confident, and don’t let the spectacle swallow you whole.
Meanwhile, in March 2024, Dawkins signed a three-year, $60.06 million contract extension, locking him in through the 2027 season, which made him one of the league’s highest-paid left tackles. More than $30 million of that deal is guaranteed.
But money, it seems, even in eight-figure sums, doesn’t buy immunity from ordinary frustrations.
