Well, it’s official. We are now a quarter through the NFL season, and it was another Sunday that didn’t disappoint. If you tailed me on X, you went a stellar 22-6, all thanks to the great info found on PFN and PFN Betting — two accounts you need to follow on a daily basis.
Let’s dig into some of the day’s action before getting into the NFL Week 5 betting lines that just came out.
Some of today’s highlights include the fact that five teams didn’t score a touchdown, three of which are in the AFC North (Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and New Orleans Saints). We also saw the Buffalo Bills establish their dominance of the NFL with a blowout victory over the Miami Dolphins.
The Philadelphia Eagles allowed the Washington Commanders to claw their way back into today’s game, forcing overtime, which D.C. eventually lost. We also saw the Indianapolis Colts do the same in their game vs. the Los Angeles Rams. They also forced OT, which they eventually lost — two teams who put in all that effort for nothing.

The NFL also saw QB Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers cover today’s largest spread (-14.5, -15.5 at kickoff) with a 35-16 victory.
There is still one more game tomorrow night between the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants — a game that doesn’t look like fireworks on the surface, but QB Geno Smith can produce magic, especially in prime time.
Looking ahead to the NFL Week 5 betting lines, we have yet to get a double-digit favorite. The closest we have so far is the Detroit Lions as -8.5 favorites against the Carolina Panthers and the Miami Dolphins as -9.5 favorites over the New York Giants. I expect at least the Dolphins line to get into double-digit territory by Sunday.
We also have five games with lines less than three points, so you can expect to see some close contests next week.
