The Philadelphia Eagles pulled off yet another trade out of left field on the second day of the 2026 NFL Draft, acquiring linebacker Jonathan Greenard from the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for two third-round draft picks.
The Vikings get a third-rounder and a future third-rounder for Greenard.

NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported the basics of the deal between the Eagles and Vikings.
Pelissero posted on X, “The Vikings are sending edge Jonathan Greenard to the Eagles for two third-round draft picks, sources say. Minnesota gets No. 98 overall and a 2027 3rd, while Philadelphia gets Greenard and No. 244.”

What does Greenard’s contract look like with the Eagles? According to Spotrac, “Jonathan Greenard signed a 4-year, $100,000,000 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, including $50,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $25,000,000.
“In 2026, Greenard will earn a base salary of $18,390,000 and a workout bonus of $100,000, while carrying a cap hit of $18,850,000.”

Eagles fans, along with Eagles players themselves, will be watching to see if Greenard can play next season and live up to his $100 million contract.
But the Greenard trade represents another bit of shrewd business for Howie Roseman and augments his status as one of the smoothest draft-day operators in the National Football League.
