Benjamin Morrison’s NFL Draft Scouting Report
Benjamin Morrison primarily aligned outside for the Fighting Irish and was often tasked with shadowing the opposing team’s No. 1 option — a challenge he never backed down from. He broke out as a true freshman and boasted elite ball production when healthy, but an injury-riddled 2024 campaign sullied his NFL Draft stock for teams.
How Morrison recovers from his hip injury will be key for evaluators, as hip injuries can be tricky for redirection and coverage mobility. That said, Morrison is trending up, and when he’s fresh, he’s one of the best man coverage defenders in the class.
With his effervescent quickness, competitive mentality, and short-area twitch, he can function as a gnat in press, and that same disruptive imprint shows up at the catch point. At his best in 2022 and 2023, Morrison looked like a first-round talent. With any luck, he can get back to that level.

Benjamin Morrison’s Latest NFL Draft Projection
PFSN’s Ian Cummings projected that Morrison would be picked No. 76 overall by the Dallas Cowboys in his latest seven-round mock draft.
Cummings said, “The Cowboys met with Benjamin Morrison at the NFL Combine. If he’s here, and if his medicals check out, he profiles as a boundary-slot bandit with exceptional man coverage chops.”

Where Does Benjamin Morrison Rank Among 2025’s CB Prospects?
Here are the top 10 CB rankings for the 2025 NFL Draft, according to PFSN Draft Analyst Ian Cummings:
10. Maxwell Hairston, Kentucky
9. Denzel Burke, Ohio State
8. Darien Porter, Iowa State
7. Benjamin Morrison, Notre Dame
6. Azareye’h Thomas, Florida State
5. Shavon Revel, East Carolina
4. Trey Amos, Ole Miss
3. Jahdae Barron, Texas
2. Will Johnson, Michigan
1. Travis Hunter, Colorado
In the preseason, Morrison was a heavily-anticipated Round 1 talent and some evaluators had him in the same range as Will Johnson. An injury-riddled 2024 campaign deflated his stock, but if his hip can get back to 100%, he still offers exciting upside.
In his first two seasons, Morrison was a gnat in man coverage and an absolute ball-hawk, with nine INTs and 14 PBUs total. Banking on a full recovery, he has the short-area quickness and burst of a waterbug and the chippy competitive mentality to give WRs headaches.
With sub-31″ arms, Morrison’s size and length may cause pause for some teams, especially with his recent injury issues. Nevertheless, Morrison has the suffocating skill set and playmaking gene to win reps, particularly for teams that employ a lot of press-man.
