Bengals Star Tee Higgins Drops 2-Word Reaction to Ex-NFL QB Hinting at Joe Burrow Requesting Trade

Tee Higgins shuts down Joe Burrow trade rumors after an ex-NFL QB speculated about a cryptic Instagram post.

One of the biggest storylines heading into this offseason is the future of Joe Burrow in Cincinnati. Although the superstar quarterback is signed with the Bengals through 2029, thanks to the comments he made during the season, there is speculation that he could force a trade or even retire early.

On Tuesday, Burrow posted a photo collage on Instagram that caught the attention of former NFL quarterback Kurt Benkert. Benkert thought the post may be hinting at a trade, but Tee Higgins quickly shot that down.

Tee Higgins Shuts Down Joe Burrow Trade Rumors

Under Burrow’s post, Benkert left a comment that said, “It feel like Atlanta, it feel like LA, it feel like Miami, it feel like New York.” Despite these being the lyrics to the Kanye West song attached to the post, Benkert deduced that this could be a hint. However, Higgins responded to this on X, saying, “No Dice.”

Of course, Higgins is going to shoot down any trade speculation about his quarterback. Nevertheless, a few of the destinations listed in the song could make some sense if Burrow were to be traded. The three teams that are the most logical destinations for Burrow are the New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams, and Miami Dolphins.

If a trade were to happen, the Jets would be at the top of the list for suitors. After the Justin Fields experiment failed, New York is yet again in the market for a quarterback. Trading for Burrow could be a huge possibility given the fact that the Jets have five first-round picks and three second-round picks in the next two seasons. Acquiring Burrow will take a hefty return, and the Jets have the ammo to do it.

The Rams, on the other hand, would be a dream scenario. With Los Angeles being one of the favorites to make and win the Super Bowl this season, there is a real possibility that Matthew Stafford could ride off into the sunset as a champion. If that happens, then the Rams would be looking for a new quarterback. There’s no one better to fill that void than Burrow.

That’s why so many NFL fans have speculated about this trade happening. Rams general manager Les Snead is known for trading draft picks to acquire players. And there would be no one better to trade for than Burrow.

Out of the three teams, the Dolphins are the least likely landing spot. Although it appears they are pivoting off of Tua Tagovailoa, he is still owed a substantial amount of money. Packaging him up in a trade for Burrow would be more of a loss for the Bengals than sending him to Los Angeles or New York.

While trade rumors will always follow a quarterback of Joe Burrow’s caliber, Tee Higgins’ response made it clear where the Bengals stand right now. The two-word dismissal served as a reminder that, despite outside speculation and social media overreactions, Cincinnati has no intention of moving on from its franchise quarterback.
